Last Days of Hitler based on 0 ratings. 2 reviews.
Having read dozens of books about the 3rd reich, I consider this the best single volume. It describes the chaos and the inefficiency resulting from various Nazis and military officials trying to curry favor with Hitler, and which Hitler encouraged. Ian Kershaw in his masterful biography writes about what he called "working toward the Fuhrer.". Mr. Trevor Roper saw this as well. What is so extraordinary is that he had such insight in 1947 and had only a fraction of the sources available to him that are available today. The book has stood the test of time. I cannot imagine anyone with interest in this subject not reading this book.
An amazing book, very informative. Introduces each character left in the bunker and follows their actions to their death or escape. A great book for reasearch or enjoyment.
