Ian has focused so much on his career that he has neglected his son Luke. Luke needs his dad now more than ever but doesn't trust that he will be there for him. Colby has always been there for her daughter Lena, but Lena has turned against her mother. Colby struggles to find out why Lena has turned against her and rebuild their loving relationship before too much damage has been done. Ian and Colby struggle as single parents; neither one knows what to do to make things right for their teens. With time, patience and love there is a chance that the rebellious teens will come around but will it be before the year is up? This story touches on the some struggles of single parents, abortion and neglect of animals. Inglath Cooper has a way of writing that brings the reader into the story with the characters that makes them feel apart of their lives. The struggles that she writes about don't lecture but bring to light some tough to deal with issues into the story but they are not the main plot of the story, allowing the reader to absorb it in on their own. Every book I have read by this author has been well written and I highly recommend her books!
