Late For Her Own Funeral
Morty and his wife Lina plan a vacation to the Poconos. Lina suggests bringing her widowed mother Irma. Morty refuses to vacation if Irma is going. Morty and Lina argue and decide not to go. Irma goes anyway. Morty ends up sleeping on the couch. Late one night not long after, Morty receives a call from a Philidelphia funeral home. Irma has passed away. Without waking Lina to tell her that her mother has died, Morty quietly gets in his car and drives to pick up the body--it's the cheapest way. On the return trip, with Irma--riding in the trunk, ensconced in a body bag--Morty stops at a restaurant on the New Jersey turnpike. When he comes out, he realizes his car has been stolen. With Irma in it!
