When I purchased Laura and the Leprechauns for my niece I did not know what a truly wonderful story it was. Written with a style that engaged her immediately, and illustrated with a mixture of original artwork by the author, and photographs that are combined with her artwork some of which use glitter to enhance the feeling of magic. The story follows a little girls wish to know if Leprechauns are truly real. And the two members of the little folk who show here that there world is both real and full of magic. A truly sweet story that shows anything is possible when you really believe. I would recommend this charming book to anyone with young children. This is a story that warms the heart and lifts the spirit. Ms Kingston shows many talents in her story telling, and her delightful illustrations

Because I tutor children in reading, and because I love to read to my nephews and nieces, I¿m always looking for the next great children¿s book. My current favorite is Laura and the Leprechauns. I love this book! Childhood (and adulthood, for that matter) should be full of imagination and magic, and that¿s what this book is all about. The story centers around two leprechauns who receive a letter from a little girl asking if they are real ¿ she still believes in them, even though her friends don¿t. So they fly to her house on their magic shamrock and infuse her St. Patty¿s Day with supernatural fun. The author is also the illustrator, and Kingston¿s bright artwork had me captivated from the first page, when I glimpsed a purple-eyed sun smiling down on the leprechauns¿ home (which was under an arching rainbow, of course!). Other pages feature glitter, which adds to the fantastic quality, as does her juxtaposition of her illustrations over actual photographs on several pages. Laura and the Leprechauns is a wonderful book that shows you don¿t have to go to Oz or Neverland to find magic ¿ it can exist in your own backyard, too!

Do you believe in leprechauns? Amber Kingston, author of Laura and the Leprechauns, has created a delightful story of friendship and helping someone out, even if it means traveling and going the extra mile. The artwork was professional and meshed nicely with the photos. The glitter on the pages adds more awe to this story, which will truly shine for the young heart that reads it. The message of helping others believe is a good one. The book is full of kindness and fun. A good read for both individual readers and those who want to share some quality time with an adult.

Laura and the Leprechauns. Written and illustrated by Amber T. Kingston. This is a delightful little book, full of sparkles and magic. Two leprechauns respond to a letter from Laura, bringing her and the reader wonderful surprises. Ms. Kingston very cleverly uses a combination of photography and original artwork to bring her little people to life. The only thing left to wish for is that the book was longer. We hope that the author/illustrator will give us more adventures of Laura and the leprechauns. Barbara J. Olexer, author of They Lived Ever After, and other books.

In this imaginative story ¿Laura and the Leprechauns¿ Amber T. Kingston has captured the magic of the enchanting world of leprechauns. Appropriate for reading during any season, the story will soon be a St. Patrick¿s Day favorite. Amber is gifted both in visual and written communication skills. The vibrant colors of her stunning illustrations help bring Laura¿s story to life. Amber has used a technique of overlaying her beautiful paintings over magnificent photographs that depict the bushes and hedgerows used as hiding places for the leprechauns. Twelve of the pages feature sparkling glitter. This feature will enhance the creative imagination of the young reader and add to the sparkle and magic of the moment. The story was inspired by the imagination of a seven year. Amber takes the reader on amazing journey to make a Laura¿s wish come true. The narrative and word choice is age appropriate. The illustrations and accompanying dialog convey the innocence of children, the charm of their facial expressions, and the feeling of emotions. The book is reminder to young and old that anything is possible when you believe hard enough. ¿Laura and the Leprechauns¿ is a timeless story of belief in Leprechauns. I am confident that the book is destined to become a classic in children¿s literature. It is a book that will endure time, should be added to school libraries, and makes a perfect gift of any occasion.
