What an amazing book! Once I started reading it, I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. And then I didn’t want it to end! I was so captured with the story line and wanted to know what happened with Brock’s son and did Brock and Melanie create a happily ever after or did the evil ex-girlfriend get in the way. There were so many twists and turns in the book that I did not see happening. The book was well written with the writing flowing smoothly creating a pleasurable reading experience. With so many romance books available, it seems majority are all the same and you feel you are reading the same story just different character names and very little differences to the plot. This romance book was not like that at all! It had its own unique premise and was unlike any other stories that I have read before. It had characters that were likeable, although you really wanted to slap Lucy (the ex-girlfriend) for the things she does. Sadly, there are people just like her in real life and you have to understand those people need help. My own personal preference but I would have liked to see the reason the boy was sick a little more “hidden” and not so obvious however this did not deter from the story at all. Also the story is a western romance and outside of the main character being a cowboy and sheriff and just a little mention of his ranch it was not heavy on the cowboy aspect. My own preference but I would have liked to see more about the cowboy aspect but again this does not take away from the story at all. I have not read the other books in this series however after reading this one I am definitely going to go get them. I don’t feel that I missed out on anything or didn’t understand anything from not reading the previous books. This read like a true standalone with a complete story from beginning to end. If you enjoy reading about cowboys with a unique premise that keeps your attention from beginning to end, then you need to pick this one up and read it!

*** Gifted in exchange for my honest Review*** I have read one of Ms McGraw's books before, having a secret penchant for Cowboys - ok not so secret to some! But - this story has more than just a Cowboy/ Sheriff - no we have a guy who has been beat down by responsibility and a 'B' of an Ex Girlfriend to that he is nearly at his breaking point, Running a ranch and being Sherif is wearing him out, and a sick son with doctors with no clue to what is wrong with him is keeping him awake at night, worrying that his son may not make it to next Christmas. Sheriff Brock Cooper is about to get a much needed helping hand from an unexpected source - Our Heroine - Melanie Fox left her small minded hometown, set on being the best Doctor she could be, she never planned on setting foot back in that podunk town that she was not that kid anymore - No now she's "Foxy" No Black Rimmed Bottle glasses now, and that podge has developed into Killer Curves. And Melanie is now a respected Doctor. Having bullies who harassed a nerdy, bookworm till she was eighteen, Melanie swore she'd never go back. Naming her Hooty...OMG did I feel for Melanie, just reading the humiliation she had endured from even her sister had me wishing for Karma to kick those bullies back into the boonies. When Melanie arrives into town, Brock pulls her up and tickets her for speeding... Watch out Sheriff - This Girls back in town and is not the meek nerd that left at the age of 18! This is a quick and easy read, but its got some substance, Ms McGraw has done a good job with the subject of Brady's illness and Brock's Manipulative Ex Partner Lucy, and Whoah - the plot twist at the end had me quickly flipping the pages to find out how it all would end. There's a HEA for some, and also some other characters get their 'Just Deserts'. Melanies Mum and Aunt had me giggling, the Romance had me sighing and the Father Son bonding out camping was one of my favourite scenes. I did work out the illness quite quickly into the book, but I think this is because I am aware of what it is and the symptoms and clues shone brightly to me. I would happily lock myself away with the full collection of Ms McGraw's Back Catalogue, as I think each book will be as good as the ones I have read so far.

I have always been a huge fan of anything that Becky McGraw writes, and this book was no exception. Brock Cooper is the Sheriff in the little town of Sunny Glen, Georgia. He has his hands full, what with being sheriff, trying to run his ranch, and making time for his son, Brady, who is sick more days than he is well. Melanie Fox, is a Doctor, and she is called home to help her mother who has had an "accident". Melanie doesn't want to go back home, she considers it a place where 500 of the oddest hillbillies on earth live, and believe me her mother Merry and Aunt June, are definitely odd, but lovable! Melanie does not have fond memories of the place, and she never expects to run up with Brock, her first crush. Brock and Melanie cannot believe how much they have both changed, and Melanie would prefer to leave this town sooner rather than later, but once she meets Brady, she has no choice but to help him, to figure out why he is so sick. If you love romance with sexy men, strong women, passion, humor, suspense, heartache, and yes, even a little hardheadedness, that would be Brock, then this is the book for you. I did not want to put it down once I started reading. Great job, Becky McGraw, I loved it and would give it more than five stars if I could!
