About the Author

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Jessie Evans, gave up a career as an international woman of mystery to write the sexy, contemporary romances she loves to read.

She's married to the man of her dreams, and together they're raising a few adorable, mischievous children in a cottage in the jungle. She grew up in rural Arkansas, spending summers running wild, being chewed by chiggers, and now appreciates her home in a chigger-free part of the world even more.

When she's not writing, Jessie enjoys playing her dulcimer (badly), sewing the worlds ugliest quilts to give to her friends, going for bike rides with her house full of boys, and drifting in and out on the waves, feeling thankful for sun, surf, and lovely people to share them with.

Did not want to put it down. Will definitely have to read the whole series. Great read and I love its humor.

This is not a cliffhanger. The storyline was different. Two adults with horrific histories with previous lovers meet. Sawyer and Mia never wanted to repeat the mistakes they had made with prior relationships so they kept it casual. It was a fun read with mystery and fear blended in! This is for adult readers only.

Leather and Lace by Jessie Evans is the first book in her series. To be honest, I tend to roll my eyes at rugged Texas cowboy books. I have no reason for it - they're just not my thing. Until now. This book blended the world as I know it and the romantic fiction world together in such a way that I didn't find it so completely, well, hokey. Mia is back home in Lonesome Point, Texas running her lingerie business, Lavender and Lace and is still recovering from a nasty breakup and subsequent attack that happened almost a year ago. Her family (read Grandmother) owns the ghost town and is planning to get the still closed/non-touristy side renovated and restored to help boost business. This is where the ridiculously hot Sawyer swaggers in. He does wear a cowboy hat but the only horse he has between his legs is a supercharged Harley and all the horsepower it has to offer. Sparks ignite between Mia and Sawyer but because of her past she ignores it and denies her attraction to Sawyer. Can she move beyond her issues with her past to let him in, is it worth it. He's only here for as long as the restoration takes and then he will be on to his next job... A simple enjoyable read that will warm your hands and heart. Mia is hilarious and Sawyer is the manliest sweet guy ever.

Leather and Lace is the first book in the Lonesome Point series, and is the first book that I have read by Jessie Evans. I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more of this series.  This book is about Mia Sherman, a beautiful woman who loves to pull pranks. She wants the town people to think that she is fearless, and to a degree she is. But there is a story in her family about a curse, where you lose your husband on your wedding night, so Mia has decided to live her life alone, and to die an old maid. That is until she runs into, or runs over, Sawyer Kane, a handsome rancher in town to restore the old ghost town to its original glory. Sawyer is immediately drawn to the sassy lingerie shop owner, and determined to find out why she pulls away from him. When an old friend shows up in town, determined to bring harm to Mia, Sawyer suddenly finds himself drawn into her life, and into the history of the little town. If you love a romance, with cowboys that ride Harleys, and a little supernatural thrown in, then this is the book for you. Loved it and looking forward to more!!

A sexy cowboy biker, romance, mystery, and suspense - what more do you need? A very interesting book with curses and a ghost town, and full of hot romance. Couldn't put it down. Really enjoyed. Highly recommend.

Cowboys, ghost towns, hot romance, and stalker ex-boyfriend... A cheerful group of friends in the small town Texas, charming, likable, engaging, fun and always ready for mischief. The whole story has such a joyful tone, you can feel the thick, hot summer air, the love of family and friends, and the merry ways they engage with each other. Both Mia and Sawyer has been unlucky in love before, and have some trust issues, not wanting to commit into a relationship any time soon. But the attraction is steaming hot, and the uncomplicated way they have with each other is pure joy. The more time they spent together, more of the feelings gets involved, trust is built, and passion runs hotter than a Texas summer day. Sawyer is such an alpha, protective, big and burly. But also sweet, tender and loving, so considerate and caring towards everyone around. Mia is fun, charming with a prankster side into her, she looks after her friends and family, and guides her secrets close to her heart. The ghost town is alluring. I loved how many times the big alpha cowboys said 'I don't believe in ghosts, but..' the unexplainable things happening in the ghost town brought unexpected entertainment into the story. Mia's ex, Paul, who was suppose to be in the prison, shows up in the town, and suddenly no one is safe, not least the closest to Mia. The tension, fear, and desperation is palpable, when Paul kidnaps Mia, and holds her hostage in the ghost town. Such an enjoyable and heartening story, the romance was adorable while scorching hot, the friends and family witty and fun, the suspense and action heart stopping, mixed with ghost town with unexplainable actions ~ Four Spoons!

OK romance. Got tired of her angst over "the curse". The real curse were her female relatives. "Oh, I wrote the letter for you!" and "I lied about my marriage and hid behind the curse!"

Life can be really rough, but picking up the pieces and moving on makes this book a hea worth reading. Add in funny family, close friends and an old run down ghost town with a real ghost makes it quirky and funny too. Great all around read.

This has a touch of mystical instead of cowboy, but I enjoyed the small town setting and the romance.

Dates a guy for a year and doesn't sleep with him then swears off men for another year, but she's on the pill which is convenient because 3days after meeting the cowboy she falls into bed with him----REALLY??? And then she apologizes to him for still being a virgin! She sure makes up for lost time then. Wish I could get back the time I wasted reading this book.

I love a good romance! Leather and Lace is very sexy, very real, and sooo additive! Jessie writes about the real things that happen in life. Readers like me who lose themselves in a book and this does that. If you want to read a book about love, trust and some ghost this is a MOST READ.
