This book is an excellent resource for anyone interested in fashion design, leather, constructing leather garments, and the history of leather. Ms. Sterlacci's depth of knowledge and experience are apparent throughout this book. She has included numerous resources, as well as step by step instruction, details, and helpful tips of the trade. I especially enjoyed the excellent design photos, and the chapters on the changing styles through the ages. This is a MUST HAVE text for any student seeking knowledge, and a "how to", of leather design and construction.

I will be using this textbook in my active sport and sportswear collection courses at The Fashion Institute of Technology this Spring and in the the forseable future. The book has excellent photographs of leather garments for women and drawings of leather construction for the serious student of apparel design. While I do not teach the leather construction classes at FIT, often sportwear design students want to incorporate leather in their designs and they often construct those garments in my courses. The step by step diagrams are invaluable. The step by step diagrams are very clear and easy to follow. In fact, a person not enrolled in a fashion design program who is interested in sewing leather for their personal use could follow these diagrams and successfully construct their leather garment.
