Not so much this one or this series. I prefer her king series. I like some of her lighter books too but I just couldn't feel too much empathy for the character. Their behavior that lead to the conflict/ romance isn't believably written. Overall the characters just seemed weak and not fleshed out. I'd pass and read one of her better works.

Good Golly, this was FUN!!! I received this book in advance for an honest review. Both Sarah & Colt seemed like polar opposites, but attracted at levels neither wanted to acknowledge. I adored the twists & turns that both brought them together & pulled them apart. True to Mimi fashion, the situations were funny at times, & quite exciting at others. I completely adored the first book & think this one is even BETTER!!! Reading this series is a lot of fun & laughs. Thanks, Mimi, for another great series! I hope this one goes on for awhile. Can't wait to find out about Jack, Luci, Taylor & the rest of the Happy Pants clan! (less)

So if you haven't read any books by this author, do it, do it now! Her happy pants series is sooo good!!!! You will for sure laugh, and you might just cry, and laugh some more, and then maybe cry from laughing so much!!! These books aren't just funny, they all have deeper meaning that will leave you pondering for days. Mimi is so talented and awesome! This installment of the series did not disappoint and was so good as always!

I absolutely loved this book. Colt and Sarah are relatable and their chemistry is marvelous. Only Mimi Jean Pamfiloff can mix boobie cookies, dogs that are actually pigs, sexy guy fights, naked judges, rank farts and, of course, leather pants to create an amazing story that makes you laugh, cry and fall in love with the characters-- who are just so perfectly imperfect ♡ Ms. Luci may I please have a cookie? Mama wants a Colt!

Loved Every Strum of His Guitar! Highly Entertaining, Emotional Roller-Coaster, Fun Filled, Laugh Out Load, Opposites Attract Romance. This Romantic Comedy Adventure has it all, Heart of gold bad boy, Stick in the Mud Good Girl, Mentally unstable Villains, and a whole crew of crazy fun loving supportive friends. What more could a reader want for a fun Saturday Night right. Sarah has forgotten what fun really is and Colt has a deep need for her calming presence. They complete each other in ways that are so real and emotional you can't help but root for a happy ending. Let the cookies fall where they may, I can't wait for the next Happy Pants Cafe adventure.

I swear…like on my kid, where have I been this whole time? Another book by Ms. Pamfiloff and another winner. After I finished reading this book, I went to Barnes and Noble and bought the other two books in the series. Yes, I BOUGHT books. I had to know how the series started and I seriously needed to read Bennett’s and Taylor’s story. This book is brilliant. I expected a rock star romance and if you looking for it…it’s not here. This a great rom-com, character driven, sexy story about letting go and forgiveness. It also makes you realize that some dreams fade and that new dreams can come true. Colt is damaged. I don’t mean just physical but mentally. I really liked the “notebook” and him writing in it all the time but when he realized that Sarah has the power for him to remember all the good and bad that has happened in his life is just jaw dropping. The times that he couldn’t remember and then remember. Those instances were brilliant written and Ms. Pamfiloff tugs at your heart with them. When Colt finally gets all of his memories back, there will be hell to pay for everyone involved. Sarah, I just loved her. To have sex with your rock god crush (I’m thinking Jon Bon Jovi for me) and then realizing how just awful it will be to her career? Again, Ms. Pamfiloff pulls off the impossible with Sarah and her inner dialogue. I will have to say that her relationship with Taylor and even Bennett…I’m jealous. And Jack, oh Jack! He must find love again. Someone like him is just too good to pass up. Speaking of the other secondary characters…damn…Luci, Holly, Melissa, Maria and even Judge Wright were perfection. Mike is a complete douche. He and Judge Wright got what they were coming and in the end, I did feel bad for Colt in regards to Mike. I couldn’t imagine what Colt felt when he totally got the whole truth about the depth of Mike’s betrayal. Sick, just sick. I have to comment on the sex or actually lack of it in the book. Yes, they hook up very early in the book but watching the build up for their next encounter is just funny, sexy and just right. Ms. Pamfiloff writes great sexual tension and in every book that I have read by her…the sex is secondary. This story didn’t need it except in the beginning and I would have been fine with it. Again, character driven story, snappy dialogue and the suspense element that is woven in, is just wanted I needed. I do, however, need to mention that the actual romance of the book is awesome, too. Colt and Sarah are completely out of their element when it comes to this and watching them dance around and fall in love. I literally swooned. Do yourself a favor? Buy this book! Hell, buy any of her books. You will not be sorry. I’m glad that I did and there is no looking back now. Bring on Jack’s story. In the meantime, I have Harper/Austin and Bennett/Taylor’s books to keep me company.

Leather Pants is book two in the Happy Pants series by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. Mimi Jean is one of those authors that can write in any genre and every single book is unique, fun, full of surprises and always, we get our Happy Ever After. Some books are darker, some will make you smile, and ALL are amazing. Lucy’s magical love cookies have found their mark once again in the honorable Judge Sarah Rae Alma of the San Francisco County Superior Court. Sarah’s life has been lived according to a self inflicted time line and she has hit every mark with her next goal being the state supreme court. Today is Sarah’s thirty fourth birthday and she just got the shock of her life when she was looking at her court schedule for the day. Listed is the one and only Colton Young, notorious, leather clad, bad boy rock star. This isn’t Colton’s first time in her court room. The first time he was there, Sarah was completely dazed by his beauty and completely embarrassed herself by flubbing her words. She can handle this, right?! She can keep her cool and act professionally. This man is a public example to young people and he’s completely wasting his life. It was her job to hold him responsible for his actions and make sure he pays his debt to society. Sarah’s friends want to make sure she loosens up and celebrates her birthday. Sarah can have fun, right?! Even though the most excitement she usually has is staying home and going over her next day’s cases. So they take her out to a fun bar. A sexy red dress, several drinks and a chance meeting changes the course of her life in every way possible, and that of a certain bad boy rock star. This book is amazing. I seriously fell in love with Colt. He is one of those characters where every layer that is peeled away makes him more and more amazing. It has been a rough year for Colt. Sarah discovers his secret and wants to help him. Whenever these two are together, they seem to bring out the best in each other. Colt helps Sarah to see herself as more than just a judge, as a career driven woman. He makes her feel beautiful, desirable and sexy. And Colton, well, I can’t say too much because that might give some things away but Sarah brings Colt peace. She makes him smile. Whenever he closes his eyes, it’s her lips, her eyes, that he sees. Talk about twists and turns, this book is full of them. Wow! I don’t know how many times I thought to myself that I never saw THAT coming! We also get to revisit Taylor and Bennett Wade from the previous book quite a lot. Lucy, the baker of those smiley face cookies and matchmaker extraordinaire plays a big part in this book as well. I have loved this series from the start, Happy Pants Café, Tailored For Trouble, and now Leather Pants. I think this one has the most surprises of them all! You will definitely smile, a lot, while reading this, you will gasp, perhaps mutter some expletives and maybe even sigh a few times. Mostly, though, you will just enjoy this fabulous book. At least I hope you will. You don’t have to but I encourage you to start at the beginning and enjoy the whole series. I can’t wait for the next book in the series, Skinny Pants, which will be about Jack, Taylor’s brother. So, get settled in because you won’t want to stop once you start this book, and meet Sarah and Colton. You’re about to go on a wild and crazy ride. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Thank you Mimi Jean, for another amazing book!
