1,000 years before the birth of Amborese is a far greater story. The legend of Tesnayr.

Before the lands of Tesnayr existed, there were five distinct kingdoms. Each proud and constantly at war with one another. But all that changed...

A stranger washes upon the shores of Sym'Dul, beaten and barely alive; the only survivor of a devastating war in a land far across the sea. Nursed back to health, Tesnayr makes a new life for himself and begins to think that his past is behind him.

Then the orcs arrive led by Galbrok. They quickly ravage the land. Faced with a terrible choice, Tesnayr forms his own army to stop them and quickly draws the attention of each of the five kings.

Yet, Tesnayr's past refuses to release him. Can he unite the five kingdoms before Galbrok annihilates them? Can a lone man from across the sea achieve what all believe to be impossible?

The title only grants a portion of the full scope of this broad strokes high fantasy. Tesnayr is a hard nosed, haunted hero that at times behaves like an anti-hero. It is difficult to describe my experience while reading Legends Lost. I can say that it took me much longer than I expected, partly due to other commitments and the level of concentration it takes to really let this book soak in. Fans of Robert Jordan's "Wheel of Time" series will enjoy this complex and brilliantly thought out tale.

"Legends Lost Tesnayr " was one of the most exciting fantasy books I have read. Nova Rose out did herself by bring such life into her characters. It takes talent to get a reader so engrossed in the book that they can envision each character. I loved the characters in this book, you have dragons, monsters, orcs, kings, talking unicorns and the wizard. I loved the wizard, who had a slight drinking problem. I really loved when Arnin and Tesnayr threw the wizard into the water, it was like he had no clue that he smelled so bad. King Slyamal's was another great character, as he able to put his appearances aside. King Slyamal like he would appear weak or as a beggar if he rode out to see Tesnayr, but instead he shown great courage for a man of his stature and humbled himself to the point that he agreed he would ride out to Tesnayr. One of the great aspects of the books is that there is so much emotion taking place. Tesnayr talks to King Shealayr about the Orcs entering his home. Rybnik asking Jenel for forgiveness. The story also brings death, romance and adventure. This book is for young adult, but no matter what, people of all ages will have a hard time putting this book down. I am hoping that there is another addition to this story, as I really want to see were this will lead us too.

Legends Lost: Tesnayr, by Nova Rose, is a story that tells the tales of war and defeat. It is a sifi/fantasy read that includes orcs, dragons, humans and elves. Tesnayer is a young leader. His land is overtaken by the orcs, and his own kind are imprisoned as slaves. Tesnayr escapes and begins a new life for himself, hoping to forget his past, though it is short lived. The city Tesnayr takes refuge is is also attacked. Tesnayr is forced to once again fight against being enslaved. Though I enjoyed the book, I felt that it lacked origenality. This story is one that has been told, time and time again, which means that the author has to find a way to own the tale. They need a way to really make it their own. I would not call the book terrible by any means, but I did find myself distracted while trying to get through it.

A man named Tesnayr washes up on the shores of Sym'Dul. He is the only survivor of a war in a land far away. He is a man who has many war wounds and emotional scars. Hoping for a peaceful death at sea, he washes ashore a severely beaten man. He is nursed back to health and afterwards in order to pay back the kindness he was given, he finds himself again back at war with the orcs. The new army he has formed draws quick attention from kings in each of the magical kingdoms. My favorite character in this book is Tesnayr, he is strong, wise and is a born leader. I love the way the author is able to quickly draw you in this fantasy story with this strong character, who only grows as he learns to cope with his past and take on his emotional scars, yet his personality is ever changing as he deals with each different situation he is led into as he works with each kingdom. This character is a great role model for young adults. In this fantasy book you will find kings with kingdoms, war, romance and damsels in distress. It's full of action that will keep you on the edge of your seat to the very end. It also has its magical moments with elves, fairies, dragons and a crazy wizard. I would highly recommend this book to all who love a good fantasy read. It is listed as a young adult novel, but adults will enjoy it also. I would suggest that you go pour yourself a hot cup of tea and curl up in a comfortable chair and be prepared to enter a fantasy world filled with magical creatures and new friends that you will not want to leave.

In a prequel to Legends Lost Amborese, we read of the story of Tesnayr. A man who was trying to escape his previous life and rid the land of those who had tortured him. Unfortunately for him, the sea did not claim him. He washed up on shore and was rescued and brought back to health. He helped those who had helped him, but always remained quiet about his past. With the passage of time, those who had tormented him came to the new land. In an effort to never be taken captive again, he began another battle with the Orcs, gathering followers everywhere he went. His reputation preceded him no matter where he went. The kings of the five kingdoms, who had always fought among each other in order to gain land, needed to put the feuds behind them and follow Tesnayr if they were to win the battle against the Orcs and keep their land. Along the way are elves, fairies, dragons and others, along with an entire cast of characters to suit your mood, some evil, some good. Follow along Tesnayr and all the lands he travels, written in great detail that you can imagine yourself with him, throughout all the lands and adventures. Although written in three books, it could have easily been just one. The chapters flowed nicely, the plot always moving forward. If you like fantasy, you will like this.

The novel Legends Lost Tesnayr was a truly epic fantasy with all the wonderful elements that make a fantasy story so magical. There are elves, fairies, kings, heroes, and of course a drunken wizard. But there is much more too. I was drawn into it from the very beginning with the betrayal of the friends. This seemed like such an important event and in a way it was; but not as much as I thought. This novel is actually the second in a series but the world building and history is so detailed that I never felt lost. I would like to go back and read the first one just to see if anything clicked for me. The characters are very likable and there were some that I detested right away. But what I loved was that the characters learned, they grew and became even more complex, instead of staying flat. This was very important for me especially in a high fantasy such as this. There are many surprises throughout this book and it definitely kept me guessing towards the end. This is a great young adult novel to keep young men interested with all the action but young ladies would enjoy it as well with the romance and magic that appears throughout. I give Legends Lost Tesnayr four stars!

What is the book about? Jarown is in extreme rush to save his friend from Blynak's attack but finds he is unfortunately too late to do anything about it. Jarown's last words are a reminder to protect and save his daughter Nelyn no matter what. Over a decade later unknown creatures on a ship are tossed in a storm at sea, the unthinkable happens and lightning strikes the ship mast. Escaping death from a sinking ship, Nigilin finds a man on a beach who is willing to take him in and go to town to find someone who can attend to the man's injuries. Tesnayr slowly recovers but the emotional scars are still left on his mind and he starts building traps for the unknown and strange creature. Suddenly he is attacked by a strange creature and discovers what they are. What did I think of the book? This isn't quite my type of book, but I continued to read it through to see if I could find something enjoyable in the book. Although it is extremely imaginative, it is not a book that I would have chosen at a book store. For those who are into extreme sci-fi/fantasy then this is definitely for you!
