Overview

For Teagan, these last few months have been heaven on earth- especially now that Garreth, her boyfriend and guardian angel, is earthbound. But perhaps Garreth is becoming a little more human than either of them expected.
Now, Teagan must realize that her world is once again about to shift, as she questions the faith she held in others against those once considered enemies.
In this continuation of Angel Star, Lemniscate will draw you even deeper into the world of dark and light as Teagan realizes the angel who could possibly save them all is the one angel she feared the most.

I absolutely loved Angel Star, and was completely blown away by it when I read it. I think it was actually the first novel that left me stunned for a few days afterwards as it emotionally got to me. I cant say I was stunned this time around, however, I have a love hate relathionship with the book now.. In the first novel I was die hard Garreth, an amazing guardian who just made me fall head over heels for him immediately with his gentle way. In this book, I was a bit shocked to not only miss him through the book but have an extreme dislike for the way he was acting in this book. I wanted to go slap him for acting so stupid. On the other side.. OMG Hadrian... the lovely sexy dark Hadrian YUMMMY why didnt I see this in book one? Maybe it was just the way he showed up when he was needed and so dark and mysterious, just wow. Thanks Hadrian for showing more of yourself in this book.To wrap up, after reading this entire book in one night, I have a love for both Light (Garreth) and Dark (Hadrian) and how we all need a little of both in our lives to have a good normal balance. Jennifer another Outstanding job on this book, I am so honored to be able to do a review on these novels for you. I can't wait to see what you have in store for us next!!!

Lemniscate picks up months after Angel Star¿s dramatic ending. Teagan is thrilled to have her guardian earth bound and with her. When guardian, Garreth, starts to make some very human mistakes and in turn pulls away from Teagan, she isn¿t sure what to do. She is also struggling with her mom¿s new relationship. Pulled between the desire to be happy for her, and the fears of what changes this will cause to her life especially the fact that this means spending more time with one of her worst enemies. Nothing is simple for Teagan in this book. While dealing with normal issues faced by teens she also must fight forces of evil. I could not wait to read Lemniscate after falling in love with the world and characters in Angel Star. Jennifer Murgia has a knack for creating characters with so much depth and heart. Her take on heaven and hell is absolutely fascinating and not to be missed. Teagan is such a selfless character, and she proves this again and again over the course of Lemniscate. I adore her! I found the plot to be a little more angsty than book one, but it worked. Teagan acted like you¿d expect any teen girl who is balancing boy and family woes to behave. I love that she had all of this happening, but still managed to maintain a respectful attitude when it came to her mother. The few times Teagan let her emotions get the best of her she felt awful after for not being nicer to her mom. I truly love the normalcy this mother and daughter relationship exudes. Lemniscate also seemed to be heavier on the action. Bad guys are after Teagan once again and she¿ll have to figure out how her new mark factors into the danger she seems to attract. This worked well for the pacing, and I found I¿d flown through this story in the matter of hours. It grabbed my attention on page one and never let go. The ending left me with several questions including one BIG question. I won¿t divulge what that question is, but I can say I¿m fiending for the next book in this series like you wouldn¿t believe. If you haven¿t tried this series you really must. It is truly a breath of fresh air. I can¿t wait to see where Teagan takes us next!

Lemniscate is the sequel to Angel Star (review here) which I loved, so I was very excited to dive back into this world again. We pick up pretty much right where Angel Star left off with Teagan and Garreth trying to adjust to everyday life together. Now that Garreth is on Earth full time Teagan is soaking up every moment with him. That time does get interrupted quite frequently with her mom¿s new love interest and his step daughter, Brynn, who¿s goal in life seems to be ruining Teagan¿s. Teagan is trying to make the best of the situation but Brynn is not making it easy on her.As Teagan¿s life begins to unravel we do get to delve into the lore behind angels and what role Teagan plays in their world. She is still not quite convinced of her power and this book puts her strength to the test and then some. With the loss of Claire still haunting her Teagan is determined to keep everyone in her life safe and often puts their needs before her own. While an admirable quality to posses, it does put her happiness on the back burner and my heart went out to her numerous times when her life seemed to be crumbling around her.I will admit that in the middle of the book Garreth was getting some evil glares from me. I think he let his new found humanity seep in a little too much and a moody teanage boy took over the body of the angel for awhile. Needless to say, I was not a fan. The reason for his mood swings is explained to you in the book and it makes sense, I just wanted to smack some sense into him at some points. But sometimes certain events are necessary and people need to struggle through life before they truly know who they are.The surprising part to this little plot twist was how Hadrian really started to worm his way into my heart. I did not see that coming at all. I thought my name was permanently under the Team Garreth banner, but what is that expression about actions speaking louder than words? I think Hadrian¿s actions spoke a little louder than Garreth in this novel, which was an interesting suprise.Boys aside, I was really happy with the flow of this book. It kept the same exciting, no fluff, full of suspense feel that I came to love in Angel Star. I think this might be it for the series right now *sadly sniffs* but I will hold out hope that Jennifer will revisit this world again someday and bring us more in the life of Teagan.

I enjoyed reading this second installment in the Angel Star series. Unlike the first book, Angel Star, Teagan learned to rely on herself instead of her angel. I loved seeing her strength and resolve grow through this new independence. In this second book, Teagan's best friend is Ryan. Tea and Ryan have a lot of fun together. I enjoyed any scene with the two of them. Their banter and relationship was entertaining. I really liked Ryan. He sounded cute and trustworthy and . . . human. I kind of wish sometimes Teagan would hook up with him instead of Garreth. For me, Ryan is the Twilight's Team Jacob equivalent. Oh Garreth, you made me angry during this book. I'm not sure if everyone would agree with me, and I don't want to go into details. I believe in forgiveness, but I really think there should have been more of a discussion between him and Teagan over a few of his choices. Those of you who've read the book know what I'm talking about. But hey, no one likes a flawless character. A new character, Dr. Nathaniel Dean, was introduced at the end of Angel Star but played a bigger part in Lemniscate. Nate is dating Teagan's mom. Well, I'll let you see what happens with all that when you read it yourself. Overall, an entertaining read! I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

This was definitely a worthy sequel to Angel Star! There were some parts of it that had me very frustrated, and a couple things that made me go "Um, but..." BUT...all in all, it was a very good story that entertained me and kept me very interested. Teagan, once again, proved to be an intriguing and strong character. She has to deal with quite a few unexpected things in this story, not least of which is how her angel, now boyfriend, Garreth, is becoming more human. And it's not always a good thing. Having the human experience thrust upon you was probably a big shock to someone who has been a guardian angel for years... so in many ways I could definitely understand why Garreth made some of the choices he did, despite the fact that those choices often irritated and frustrated me. However, it didn't irk me because it was believable. When the summary mentions an angel that could possibly saving them all being the one angel they fear... I won't say who it is. Let me just say, yeah... that was a bit of a surprise. At first, I had a little trouble with this one because I was just so surprised that it would happen, but at the same time, I definitely understood it. There was some really good potential for a great love triangle here though, and I feel like the author didn't play with this enough. However, it didn't really detract from the story. All in all, I thought this was a really great sequel. The author did a great job keeping me interested and keeping me where I cared about her characters. I'm not sure if there will be a third book, as this one seemed to tie everything up very neatly. However, that's what I thought about Angel Star too, and I was wrong. So maybe we'll get a third installment. Hope so!

My thoughts... Lemniscate, the second book in the Angel Star series, took an interesting turn. In the first book, I felt very devoted to Garreth. His strength and goodness was like a beacon to Teagan. This book definitely left me second guessing my judgement of his character. He is faced with tough decisions and makes some poor choices that effect the lives of all the characters. Many of the same people play an important role, including the evil Brynn. Teagan discovers more about her fate, as it is tied to Garreth and Hadrian and she must overcome several challenges, some emotional and very personal ones. Once again I am impressed with the plot development skills of Jennifer Murgia. The lives of the characters, while full of chaos and confusion, always make perfect sense in the end. I was also impressed with the use of symbolism in the book, another sign of great planning. There was quite a bit of character development in Lemniscate. Readers will also find suspense, mystery, and a bit of a love triangle. I was impressed the strength Teagan showed in the face of evil. She is come a long way since the first book and I look forward to reading her again in future installments. Overall, this was a great sequel. If you have not read Angel Star, I definitely recommend starting there. Fans of the series will be entertained and possibly swayed to the dark side.

It had been a little bit since I had the pleasure of reading Angel Star. While I have been eagerly anticipating this next book; I found myself struggling to remember everything from the first heart stopping book. Luckily, Murgia created Lemniscate as an easy crossover that offers reflections on the first book that will allow readers an extra hand in remembering things from the first book. Teagan is still an incredible strong young woman that has found herself in the grips of a war that has been brewing over the centuries. Even more this book offers amazing events that will further pull her into this mysterious world. Although, it seems to ease the transition when you have a handsome mouth watering angel protecting you; that loves you more than the stars. After making the decision to become bound to the human world, Garreth seems to be struggling to blend in. When Teagan pushes him to open up to the world it could just been his undoing, or worse yet a danger to them both. With the dark always on the prowl and drawn to the light of our beloved Teagan; it is only a matter of time until it catches up with this extraordinary character yet again. Lemniscate concludes with what I perceive as a promise about what is to come. I look forward to see what else Murgia has up her sleeve for these characters, and I am anxious to see if this ending is what it appears.

Lemniscate is a wonderful second book in the Angel Star series. The characters have depth, are well developed, and the suspense keeps me turning the pages. Teagan learns more about herself, and her purpose, some of which from very unexpected sources. She realizes more about the people she loves and gives voice to some surpressed feelings. That is about all I can say without spoiling anything. Garreth is hard to read about in this book. It all ends up having purpose of course, but he made me want to cry or hit something. Hadrian is in this book of course and we learn a lot more about him. Lemniscate is intriguing front cover until the end page, and continues its message of light and darkness, redemption and second chances, love and all the emotions in between.
