Let Love In by Melissa Collins

What would happen if you lost everything? If the people who were supposed to love you unconditionally were no longer there for you, how would your world change?

That's exactly what happened to Madeleine Becker when her parents died when she was ten years old. Ripped from her home and everything that she has ever loved, she is forced to start all over again. The only way for her to move on is to build walls around her heart and keep everyone at a safe distance. Her logic: she can't get hurt if she doesn't fall in love.

That theory is blown to pieces when she meets Reid Connely during her freshman year at college. He is gorgeous and darkly mysterious. He understands Maddy's pain all too well, but sharing his pain would mean breaking down the walls he put up around his own heart. Conflicted between loving Maddy and hiding his dark past, Reid starts to reevaluate his world. Maddy's inner strength, snarky personality and breath taking beauty help Reid to make peace with his past.

Together they find out what happens when they let love in.

Series reading order and couples:
Let Love In – Maddy & Reid (ends in a cliffhanger)

About the Author

Melissa Collins has always been a book worm. Studying Literature in college ensured that her nose was always stuck in a book. She followed her passion for reading to the most logical career choice: English teacher. Her hope was to share her passion for reading and the escapism of books to her students. Having spent more than a decade in front of a classroom, she can easily say that it’s been a dream.
Her passion for writing didn’t start until more recently. When she was home on maternity leave in early 2012, she read her first romance novel and her head filled with the passion, angst and laughter of the characters who she read about it. It wasn’t long before characters of her own took shape in her mind. Their lives took over Melissa’s brain and The Love Series was born.

A romance about college kids written in teens words... that sums it up. Got the book for free but it was not worth my time. I had to force myself to get till the end, skimming pages at a time. Unrealistic characters, unnecessary teenage drama, poor writing, and careless depictions of potentially dangerous situations such as unsafe sex and rape drugs. Terrible, terrible, terrible.

pretty well written...My only comments which are also carried to the rest of the stories....WAY TOO MUCH SEX....I myself did 6 years of college but can't remember this type of over drinking and too much sex...This author's experiences in college may have been more like the stories...lots of party, drinks, and sex. Myself after my Military service and working to help with college fees didn't leave time for the parties, and wild sex....Of course as we hear and read in the news...it appears that working hard for an education may not be as important to some.

Let Love In by Melissa Collins is a terrific read. I am late to the table, so I missed out on the boxed set deals, but this is definitely and author/story line that I could see myself following. The characters are strong and solid, remaining fixed even when life gets in the way. I would have enjoyed glimpses into the future of other characters. And...oh the cliffhanger....

I would advise to buy the BOXSET to save money. Worth the Read. So glad Reid and Maddy got together. There so cute both have so much baggage and pain. Cant wait to read the next book.

The story of Maddy & Reid was a sweet one of young love. They were both damaged in similar ways drawing them together and allowing each of them to Let Love In. Sticky sweet is sometimes just what I need to escape reality. I have called my husband "my lobster" for years, so I LOVE, LOVE, LOVED that reference! Cute story, I look forward to reading more in to these two in Let Love Stay.

I fell in love with the characters: Maddy, Reid, Momma, Mel... all of them. Maddy and Reid can see things in one another that most can't and it is breathtaking to say the least. Maddy`s parents died when she was 10 and she was shipped off to an aunt she didn’t know. The aunt died, when she was a senior and Maddy`s best friend took her in. But everything changes for Maddy, when she meets Reid. It’s not hard to see that they have each found their missing half, their soul mate. But the ending left me heartbroken for Maddy and Reid. I thoroughly enjoyed Let Love In!
