***5 Stars*** My only complaint is the build up was a little long, but I'm glad I kept reading. Did not expect what eventually happened. I was ticked, happy, sad & even shocked throughout this book! *258 pages*

5 stars ¿¿¿¿¿ I was lucky enough to get my hands on an ARC of this book well before it was a twinkle in any of the public's reading eyes -- and let me tell you -- I was HOOKED!!   There were some moments at first that I was thinking "Oh, goodness, REALLY?" but then the story started REALLY picking up and I was sucked into the vortex and couldn't get out!!   In my condition if a book keeps me up all night, you know it's a good one!    Mason's actions made me want to hate him, but his story and how he got there made me feel terrible for him.   ONE incident that can totally change a life -- ONE encounter -- ONE moment.     There are total bombshells dropped on you through this book that leave you gasping and clutching your poor little breaking heart!  In the end, I love how everything is well-tied together and there's no loose ends.  I hate when I finish a book and think "Well, then what??" but DC Renee does an AMAZING job of bringing it all together and giving you a resolution to everything that took place throughout -- even if she tears your heart to shreds in the middle (in a good way!)  There's the perfect combination of conflicting emotions throughout this story.  DC Renee can weave together an intricate story without losing any details nor leaving any holes in the plotline. Well executed, well executed.   I highly recommend this one!! :D  ... now to hope for a spinoff ;)

If you are looking for sex. Sex. Sex. Sex this is not it. If i counted right it has one sex scene. But sex is not the point. The story its self is great, love, passion. I didn't particulary liked the writing style but it did not take away from the story. I at times felt like i was watching a movie. The details and dialogue allows for the mind to paint a good picture. Overall i enjoyed reading it and would highly recomend it a romantic story solely. Nothing dark and twisted but still a lovely lovely story. -Nina-

**A complimentary copy was provided by author in exchange for an honest review ** ~~ 4.5 "Twisted Revenge" Stars ~~ I'll start by saying that I really liked this story.  I was truly intrigued and attracted to this book after reading the synopsis.  I was a little scared about how dark this book might get after the description of it, but I am happy to say that it isn't a dark read at all.  This book deals with a kidnapping storyline, revenge, and a case of mistaken identity.  I will say that this book was unlike most of the books that I have read recently.  Which is a refreshing thing in itself.   This book definitely had it all…. love, suspense, drama, heartache and so much more.  The only reason I didn't give this book a 5 star rating was because there were some things that I had trouble believing, plus there was a part about half way in that I knew was coming but was still disappointed that the author threw that in.  I personally didn't think it needed to be a part of the story.  This was for a page turner and a book that was really hard to put down once you start it.  It will definitely bring out all of your emotions….I was mad, happy, panting, heart broken, and overall just glad I read this book.   The story starts out with Mason getting out of prison after 5 years and showing how he is h*ll bent on getting revenge on the person he "believes" wrongfully accused him of rape.  This revenge plot leads him to the kidnapping of Kat Gingham ( The person he "believes" accused him years ago. )  I will say that I truly felt bad for both Kat and Mason…..these 2 characters were dealt some pretty crappy stuff in there life.  Kat's was dealt to her as a child, when she was abandoned as a baby and tossed around from foster home to foster home.  Mason's crappy hand was dealt to him as an adult.  He had everything….a great career, wealth, plenty of women, but then that was all taken away from him when he is sent to prison.  The big difference between these 2 characters though was how they dealt with their situations.  Kat was a shy and quiet girl, but was also determined to make something of herself and when push came to shove she didn't back down.  Were as Mason truly a broken man, what he endured in prison was awful and I can understand why he was broken, but he thought that getting revenge and breaking Kat down was the way to feel better about his situation.  I truly wasn't sure if I was going to like Mason much during this story, but it turned out that he was kind of a softy when it comes to captors.  Yes he had a mean side and yes he tried to break Kat, but we also saw a sweet and tender side to him.  Even though he had a plan for Kat he still wasn't willing to see her come to any harm and protected her at every cost.  I loved the dynamic between Kat and Mason.  They had some really good chemisty and the sexual tension was off the charts.  I loved watching their love story unfold and was absolutely thrilled with how this book ended!!!!! We meet some side characters in this story that I thought were wonderful…Trent and Benny, even Chain and John.  They added a wonderful aspect to the story but really didn't take away from the main story of Kat and Mason.  They were there to help Kat and Mason follow down the right path.  I won't say anymore about that, you just need to read this book. I would definitely recommend this book!!!!  If you are looking for a great but unusual love story with drama, suspense, heartbreak, revenge, and some steamy scenes (oh and even a surprising twist you don't see coming) then this is the book for you.  I look forward to reading more books by D.C. Renee.

I've never had a book where the prologue inspire such strong emotions before. I straight off hated Mason, I wanted to throw my kindle at the wall. He made me so angry and frustrated. I am glad I kept reading though because it was SO worth it! I felt like this story could have gone in two very different directions. One very dark or one brighter version. It was just plain good. The consistency in each character in this book is wonderful, in this book it would have been so easy for everyone to get off track, but they didn't. Kat kept her head throughout her situation. I loved that she was a kind person who cared about people. I loved that she stayed true to her personality through out the book. There were so many times she could have been inconsistent, but the author did a great job making Kat's personality stable and believable. Mason, now he was complex. I hated him and loved him at the same time. A man who was broken by thoughtless actions and revenge years before. He was broken, and hurt, but he was still himself underneath it all. Benny was my favorite character, he was the outsider looking in who gave everyone a verbal smack to the back of the head when they needed it. He was funny and observant. This book was an emotional roller coaster! Angry, shocked, hopeful, happy, sad, surprised, sad, happy, It was all over the place! The pace of this book was great! I loved the twists and turns and the ups and downs. This book kept me guessing on what was going to happen next. There are twists you will NOT see coming, and they are perfect.

This book was in my preview list for about 3 mos. I think i was afraid of being disappointed. I wasnt. I started the book about 9:30pm and finished at 2 am. Not a short story,i am a fast reader. My hubby actually got up looking for me. I actually felt both the characters pain and got teary quite a few times. This was an easy read with very few sex scenes but they were placed where they needed to be. Still 18 and over. I hope to read more on the other characters like the guys especially Benny. -DINK
