Overview

Let Me Lead by Kathleen Sutton

Three lives cross: a gentle woman, a brutal temptress, and the young man who has their full attention. The result - an insightful story of freedom, power, and purpose.

Jared, a ballroom dance instructor, is finally ready to honestly examine his flirtatious lifestyle, but now he's caught between two women: one who loves him enough to help him question his life's purpose and the other who toys with him for her own profit and amusement.

Christine, alone and middle-aged, struggles to start over, but living past the pain of losing her family will test her faith and put her heart in harm's way by caring about young Jared.

To Tracy, people are merely tools to get what she wants - and what this sensuous, manipulative woman wants is complete control over Jared.

I was pleasantly surprised at how well this story was put together, three very different characters intertwined in such a way you won't want the story to end. This book has everything, mystery, grief, romance, jealously, it caters to all genre's. I highly recommend!

Let Me Lead touches on common battles that we all face at different points in our lives. . . . . Grief associated with loosing those we love; past transgressions; right versus wrong; standing up for what is right versus letting it go; etc. Battles that would be made so much easier if we just let Him lead. Sutton gives us a look in the the lives, minds, and thoughts of her characters. Christine is a widow grieving from not only the loss of her husband, but the loss of her children. Christine makes a decision to move on with her life when she moves to her husband’s old family home and begins taking dancing lessons. For Christine dancing served as an “. . . exit ramp in life. . . “ that leads to new beginnings and opportunities in her husband’s (Seth) hometown. A place where she could start over without people watch and/or judging her every move. She finds herself doing little things that she would never have done. She also resurrects her old childhood friend and guardian angel, “Liberty,” who helps her face her uncertain future. Jared (Jaden) is man who has made a lot of bad choices in his life and lost children of his own. Jared’s job at the dance studio serves as a way to begin anew. It is during that time that he meets Christine and secretly falls in love with her and Tracy enters his life determined that he will be “hers”. Jaden also finds out that not only did his ex-wife lie to when she reveals that her second child in not his, but he finds that she lied about loosing their first child to a miscarriage. Tracy is a woman who has survived a childhood filled with abuse and violence only to become a stalking, vengeful, sadistic, psychopathic individual who thrives on controlling others and causing pain. She is very intelligent and cunning. She has set her sights on making Jared hers and hurting those that he loves and that are close to him if he does not do the things that she asks. Through it all Tracy craves someone who will love her. You will have to read to find out if she finally finds someone who loves her. Donovan is a close friend from Christine's past. He has loved Christine forever and is instrumental is opening Christine's eyes to her relationship with her deceased husband and others around her. I did not want Let Me Lead to end. . . . I wanted to continue reading to find out more about the lives of the characters. Let Me Lead was just that good. 4.5 Stars – Excellent and very good read! Reviewed by: Kei, SWBC
