About: Letters from Jayson is a fiction novel written by Amy Hale. It was self published on 7/24/16, paperback, 192 pages. The genre is romantic comedy. My Experience: I started reading Letters from Jayson on 3/10/17 and finished it on 3/11/17. This book is an excellent read! I could hardly put it down! In this book, readers will follow the point of views of Lindsey Sparks, a columnist who struggles for a promotion in a male dominant newspaper company. Even though she has a journalism degree, she got passed over on jobs that she’s well qualified for. One day she decided she has had enough and confronted her boss even if it means losing her job. Her boss worried about Lindsey’s threats and gave her a tough assignment out of state chasing after an author for an interview even knowing that the author is notorious for avoiding the media. While the new scenery is a welcome break and the need to prove herself is greater, Lindsey encountered a few difficulties. Another point of view is Jayson Conway, who holes himself up and away from people working on meeting deadlines and hiding away a couple of secrets of his own. He was upset at first when the living situations got mixed up where he has to share the beach house with Lindsey. He eventually agrees to let her stay after the two settled on a few ground rules. One of them is to communicate by letters because he’s often busy and doesn’t want to be interrupted. Hence the title of the book, letters from Jayson. I like reading this book and especially love it that the author included an epilogue! It wraps up everything nicely in a bow. I like reading their letters to each other. I like the easy humor and definitely the resistance about whether or not to have the hots for the person who gets on your nerve. The supporting characters are great players in this book. I like Whitney, Lindsey’s BFF and all things goes on in her life. She’s a good friend. Kevin is okay too but I don’t know about Shawn. Is there a guy that do what he does? I haven’t read many self-published titles, but this book is definitely a hidden gem! I highly recommend everyone to read! Pro: epilogue, couldn’t put down, fast pace, page turner, independent women, humor, romance, more than 1 POV, friendship, Con: none I rate it 5 stars! ***Disclaimer: Many thanks to the author, Amy Hale, for the opportunity to read and review. Please assured that my opinions are honest. xoxo, Jasmine at www.howusefulitis.wordpress.com
