I had read a short story by Anne Calhoun and learned about this book. Another recommendation by the same author is called Uncommon Passion - a story about another emotionally wounded policeman.

This is one of my favorite books, I read it at least once a year. Unfortunately, the overview listed is for a completelly different book altogether, which is misleading for anyone who has never read Ms. Calhoun's work. That is unfortunate, because the story line really holds your attention and the characters, Lacey and Hunter, are totally believable and well developed. Read the book, I'll bet when you've finished it, you'll be wishing you could find your own Hunter!

Beautiful's Firsts This book was recommended to me by a friend on Goodreads as one of her favorite books ever...and I can see why. Liberating Lacey is the romantic story of Lacey Meyer, ultra-conservative Commercial Mortgage Broker, and Hunter Anderson, ultra-sexy Police Officer. Liberating is the perfect term for the relationship these two unlikely lovers form. Lacey is recently divorced and ready to be more adventurous in her sex life and Hunter is more than willing to play along and be her FIRST in many sexual escapades. Anne Calhoun writes a very sexy and steamy tale of these lovers and is extremely vivid in her description of everything in this book, down to the carpet in her house or the way rain makes rivulets on skin. I felt such a part of this book and this is a feat not all authors can manage. But the thing that made me fall in love with this book is the simple fact that Lacey and Hunter were REAL. In a world of books made up of twenty something virgins, it was so refreshing to read about 2 characters who could be your next door neighbors. For that, this book held my interest until the very end. Kudos to Anne Calhoun!!! My only negative about the book was the cover and for that it lost a star for me....it truly bothered me!
