Rafe had never met a truly irresistible woman, until he met Liberty.

Libby has the kind of beauty that comes on slow—strikes a guy the longer he looks. And Rafe sure is having a fine time looking, and touching, and loving Liberty Starr.

The only problem is that Rafe is pretending to be just another cowboy down on his luck. Working for the FBI, he's come to Stone Hill, Colorado, to investigate the man Libby loves like a father.

He was just another cowboy.

Free-spirited Libby offers him a job and a place to stay. Together they spark like wildfire, their intense passion filling their days and nights. But Rafe is only in town for the summer, and while Liberty is willing to risk her heart, secrets threaten any possibility of a future together...

About the Author

Rebecca E. Grant believes that love is unstoppable! For Rebecca, writing women's fiction with wonderfully erotic elements is a little like cooking. First, she likes to lay her hero and heroine out gently on a well-oiled surface, take some seasoning up in her hands and smooth it into them until they're so flavorful they're ready to pop. Then she lets them steep awhile in a nice marinade. When they are at their most succulent, sometimes she will put them in a slow-cooking oven and turn them over and over, and other times she'll toss them on a blazing grill to sizzle. Either way, at some point in the story, they are going to devour each other!

Currently an innovative educator with a PhD in organizational development, Rebecca lives in Minnesota on the edge of a wetlands, where wild turkeys and other creatures teach her balance and renewal. She loves the four seasons, long walks, early mornings with a steaming cup of coffee and late nights filled with stimulating conversation, a bottle of amusingly insouciant wine and good friends.

Rebecca began writing women's fiction in April of 2009. Liberty Starr is her first published romance.

She might have taken him for just another cowboy, the way he stood on the side of the highway next to a ten-year-old Silverado that had seen better days. She pulled the Wrangler over. Aramis leaped from the back to the front seat and eyed the stranger. He was tall and wore his Stetson low. He'd taken his shirt off. A trail of dark hair shot down his torso like the shaft of a downward-pointing arrow. His faded jeans rode low and snug. Shadowed by the Rockies, he looked right at home. As if the only space large enough to hold him—the only place he could ever truly be at ease—was outdoors.

That's why she might have taken him for just another cowboy, except that his eyes seemed uncommonly discerning, as if he already knew all there was to know about her. It was unnerving.

"Need some help?"

He tucked his hands into the pockets of his jeans. "I could use a ride."

She sighed. The last thing she needed right now was a cowboy down on his luck. "How about if I call someone for you?

He shrugged. "Don't know anyone."

"Well, where are you staying?"

"Haven't figured that out yet." He grinned and crouched low, calling to her dog. "Come here, boy."

Aramis shot out of the car.

"Sit." Aramis sat. "That's right." Aramis's tail thumped wildly. "Good dog!" He scratched the dog's ears. "He's well-trained. Siberian Husky?"

She got out of the car and walked toward the cowboy. "Yes."

"What's his name?"

"Aramis. So, what brings you to this part of the country?"

"I figured someone would give me a job. I'm good with horses. You know, roping, ranching."

"You do any rodeoing? Rodeo comes back our way in a month. I might be able to help you hook a job."

He pushed his Stetson back, revealing dark wavy hair that hadn't seen a barber in some time. She could see his eyes more clearly now and felt like he was drinking her in.

"Yeah, a bit."

"If you don't have a cell phone, I can call the garage for you."

"No phone. A little cash. No friends. You could be my first." He grinned again and gave Aramis a playful pat on the rump. "Your dog seems to like me. You know what they say. You can't fool a dog." He waited.

She hesitated.

"Seems a little unneighborly to leave me here. Wouldn't it be just as easy to take me into town as to call someone? Sign back there said it was seven miles. Too far to walk in this heat."

He stepped out of the shadow. His eyes were cerulean, like the Colorado sky, his skin deeply tanned. He was, by any definition, magnificent. In this part of the country where Utes, Hispanics and Caucasians had settled more than two-hundred years ago he could have easily been taken for a local. She dug the toe of her boot into the side of the road. He looked like a cowboy, but there was something unusually intense about his manner underneath the casual surface.

She peered into the cloudless sky, then over at Aramis. No one was likely to travel this stretch of the highway any time soon, and it was unseasonably hot for early June. What could happen in seven miles?

She walked back to her car and patted the seat. "Aramis, come!" To the cowboy she said, "Hop in."

LIBERTY STARR by Rebecca E. Grant is a contemporary romance set in modern day Stone Hill, Colorado. It is well written with details. It has betrayal, finding the truth, overcoming obstacles, romance, sensuality, falling in love and did I mention great sex scenes. The characters are likable. What a wild ride. Both Rafe and Liberty are intelligent, well adjusted, know what they want and go after it, strong willed, sexy determined, handsome and beautiful. It is a quick read, fast paced with a waterfall made for the all natural scene. I would recommend this story especially if you enjoy cowboys, rodeo, sensuality, finding peace, romance and a great story of coming to terms with your heritage This book was received for review from Net Galley and details can be found at Carina Press and My Book Addiction and More.

I've always imagined myself as one of those cowgirls riding across the field with my hair blowing in the wind but never before have I pictured myself as alluring as Liberty Starr. However, Rebecca Grant pulls you into Liberty's life in a way that makes you wish you were part of the story. When Rafe shows up in town, you think you know where the story will end but there is mystery around every corner. What's Rafe really doing in town? What secret is Caleb hiding? And, who is Veronique? If the mystery catches your attention, the romance will make your pulse race. This is one book you'll enjoy...cover-to-cover.

It is about the truest love that wild horses couldn't pull apart. Not when love is unstoppable. I found I wasn't impatient to find out mysteries and secrets about the main characters, Libby and Rafe. There was something about just being able to wait and see what would happen next. Probably because, some how, some way, the reader understands there is love here between these two. Not a few seemingly insurmountable problems to thwart that love either. Problems easily tempered by terrific love scenes -- talk about thundering hooves or was that my own heart pounding! Let this story take you away through its highs and lows or challenge yourself through your own resistance and doubt about the characters -- either way, there is satisfaction to be had in the telling of this story.

Sexy, sexy, sexy! I counted 16 love scenes over 289 pages. This is the author's debut romance novel and what a debut it is. I wonder if she can be convinced to write a sequel? I couldn't put LIBERTY STARR down. It's a fast, entertaining, stimulating (if you know what I mean) read during which both Liberty and Rafe leaped out of the pages and right into my heart. Read it. Love it. Can't wait for the next one!

Watch out - when you starting reading this book, you will not be able to put it down. A true page turner. As a reader who typically reads fiction over any other writing style, I was delightfully surprised and drawn in to the characters and plot of this book. The author kept the story line playful, believable, full of intrigue, and yet, tasteful. If you are looking for a story that keeps you wanting for more, than this is the book for you. I can't wait to read another book from this author!

Ah LIBERTY! Her parents knew what they were doing when they named this naturally confident, independent girl, Liberty. The author, Rebecca E. Grant did a marvelous job developing Libby's character from her total body comfort (who wouldn't LOVE that?) to her love of horses and all animals, to the love she shares with her cowboy (who maybe isn't a cowboy at all) Rafe. I was touched, moved to laughter and tears many times throughout the story. Hint: after you read this book you'll have an entirely new paradigm for swimming lessons, waterfalls and boat docking! The sizzle is tastefully written with enough heat to qualify this book as a HOT ticket. I personally enjoy a story with some mystery and there is a lot of intrigue-just what will unlock this cowboy who rolled into town on a mission-and took an unintentional detour with the simply irresistible (and some would say, irrepressible) Libby. One of the things I liked best about this book is that Libby and Rafe aren't just attracted to one another-they really like each other. They're as playful as they are hot-as ready to have fun as they are to make love-despite the family history which is riddled with secrets, and the mystery that surrounds Rafe. After reading this book, I want to: -ride through the woods with wild abandon - feel nature on my bare skin - win a rodeo competition (not that I'm saying anyone actually won a rodeo competition. you have to read the book to know whether this even happened ? - celebrate all night long at a glamorous ball held in my honor - be more like Libby: genuine, affectionate, free-spirited, loyal, have great business acumen, surround myself with animals, love a sexy man who knows how to balance alpha with sensitivity, and embrace life. just like Liberty does. Rating: ***** (that's 5 stars!!! - enjoy!)

This book is yummy from beginning to end! What I loved most about this book was that everything was tastefully done. There's a lot of sex, and it's steamy hot, but romance is the foundation for all of it. The characters are playful, intense, well-intentioned, loyal, confident and it all makes for a wonderful romantic read. Besides, who doesn't love a cowboy?

As a reader who does not usually read romance novels, I would rate Liberty Star at the very top because not only is the story compelling, the interplay between the two lead characters is exciting, tantalizing and sensual. I was completely held by the storyline and could not put the book down. When I absolutely had to, I couldn't wait to get back to the intrigue, mystery and excitement. I didn't know how it would end, since it could have gone in several directions. To me, this was possibly the most rewarding, although the playfulness and sensual excitement between Rafe and Liberty kept me wanting more. From the very beginning when Rafe's truck broke down on the side of the road, to the horseback ride in the woods under the waterfall (you have to read the book to understand this most unusual reference), to the mystery surrounding Rafe, to the family dynamics, to the very last page, this was an extraordinary page-turner. I know this is the author's first published romance and I would buy another book by Rebecca E. Grant on a moment's notice. This is storytelling, intrigue, mystery and romance at its best. I hope the author will let her readers know when her next book is coming out! Meanwhile, I'm buying many copies of Liberty Star to give to all my friends (even those who don't typically read romances!).
