License to Carrie by Angi Morgan is the second book in her new series, Bodyguards in Heels. This book was every bit as captivating as the first book in the series. I sat down and didn't stop until I had finished it.
Grammy/Patty is back match making for another granddaughter. I do love this character. She is a smart and gifted woman who knows how to handle life and her granddaughters. Carrie is the newest cousin to join the fledgling business. Her life was previously demolished by working for her mom in the Houston area. She needs a reboot for her life and to learn more about this "gift" that her grandmother tells her about. Ms. Morgan provides plenty of action as Carrie is assigned to protect a millionaire who has already escaped death once. Carrie and Russ create enough sparks to light up the pages as the story unfolds. A fast paced plot, action, laughter and yummy romance kept me turning the pages.

In book 2 of Angi Morgan’s fresh and innovative new series, another cousin joins Bodyguards on Heels. Russell Randolph, a wealthy businessman barely survived a attack on his life two years ago, which cost the life of his business partner. Russ has had bodyguards since then, however some have had wandering hands, and the media has gotten into its collective head that Russ’ affections might lay where it could be detrimental to his company’s investors. His best friend suggests he hires a female bodyguard from Bodyguards in Heels. Hallie is at her wits’ ends when she is asked to provide protection, she has no one available, so she asks her cousin Carrie to step in, who has some valuable experience to offer. Carrie Dillon also has a special ability, that of knowing when someone is lying, which could definitely be an asset. The problem is Russell doesn’t want a bodyguard, any bodyguard, especially not one as attractive as Carrie! But Grammy knows something that they don’t!
LICENSE TO CARRIE is such a fun story! I was eager to get back to the Bodyguards in Heels world, and there is no sophomore jinx for Angi Morgan! For a longish novella, it is well padded with interesting details about the characters, and I couldn’t turn the pages quickly enough. The banter between Russ and Carrie is superb, the story is excellent, and there was an unexpected plot twist that surprised me quite a bit. Ms. Morgan gives us a perfect blend of suspense, romance, family dynamics, and again those exceptional characters. LICENSE TO CARRIE is lighter than Angi Morgan’s usual fare, and at least as good. There is also more humour, the women are just so awesome; I love this series!
