License to Date by Susan Hatler

After discovering her fiancé cheats on her, Kaitlin is focused on two things: remodeling her home and avoiding men at all costs. But her friends insist she get back in the driver's seat and date again. They strike a hard bargain and agree to paint her house if she goes on five dates.

Anxious to get the paint job started, Kaitlin schedules five dates in five days, but her plan falls to pieces when a sexy bartender at her venue-of-choice makes her swoon. Even though he observes each of the dates from afar, she can't help but want him to come a little closer.

The last person she should fall for is a mysterious bartender with a sinful smile, but Paul makes her want to take risks again. Will the charming man with electric blue eyes break her heart or will he prove to her that a license to date is what makes life worth the drive?

The perfect romantic pick-me-up! I LOVE Susan Hatler's Better Date than Never Series!  Each book is fun, romantic and full of familiar characters that I have grown to love!  In License to Date Kaitlin is so focused on remodeling her house, she couldn't care less about dating!  Her ex-fiance cheated on her with her own sister and how can she ever trust a guy again?  Her friends think differently and they strike a bargain with Kaitlin to date again that is hilarious!  When Kaitlin mets the sexy bartender and he tells her his name,  I thought to myself, "NO WAY!!!  What are the chances?"  But his personality and their chemistry help to overcome the name issue.  Looking for a romantic book fix?  Sparks fly in this newest installment in the Better Date than Never series!  License to Date is the perfect mix of romance, fun and friends! (And don't forget the swoon-worthy kisses!)  Baby blues, tuxedos and some high heels...all make for the perfect date!   I received a copy of this book for free and this is my honest review.

I have loved all of the books in the Better Date Than Never series, but this one is my favorite--with a vulnerable, funny heroine and a smoldering, charming hero.  There's a lot of emotion, humor and spark in this story.  It's a feel-good super hug that made me smile and sigh.  Great job, Susan Hatler!  Keep them coming!

I loved this sweet romance! While not probable, it is funny, sweet and satisfying. No foul language, sex or politics - just simple and sweet - it could not have been better.

Brilliant, funny read! This is a heartwarming romance and, although it is the sixth story in the series, you don’t need to have read the earlier stories to enjoy this one - I know because I haven’t read them! After discovering her fiancé had cheated on her with her sister, Kaitlin has sworn off men and is concentrating on renovating her new home. However, her friends agree to help paint her house if she’ll go on five dates. Determined to make the most of this offer, Kaitlin decides to schedule the five dates into five consecutive days - that should mean her home gets painted next weekend! Now all she needs are the men to date . . . . The author has created a great group of friends, all of whom are having their own problems or dilemmas but all super supportive of each other. The dates are all held at the same venue and Kaitlin finds she isn’t particularly looking forward to meeting the men she’s dating but she definitely is looking forward to seeing Paul again. Paul is just WOW! It is a relatively short story but it is a real page turner and brilliant to escape into, with engaging characters, humorous incidents and lots of love. I really enjoyed this and will definitely be looking out for more by this author in future. At the time of writing this review, the e-book is available free of charge - I highly recommend you grab yourself a copy if you enjoy reading romances!

It was nice to have a different take on a love story and the ending was actually really cute, but I really wasn't a huge fan of Kaitlyn's character. I get wanting free labor from your friends so you agree to all these dates you don't want to go on, but she was flat out rude to the poor guys. I felt worse for them than I did Kaitlyn when she threw a hissy fit at the end...

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I feel like I have been in a rut when it comes to books lately, and this cute little read got me right out of it. Could not put it down, read it all in one sitting. I loved the chemistry between the two and the lack of sex scenes was refreshing. This book was all about the connection between them and not about what they could do between the sheets. Will definitely be reading another book from this author.

Short, sweet, romantic novel although I must admit I guessed the ending about halfway through the very short book.

My first book with Susan Hatler. This darling, fun novella made me wish it was a full length novel! Kaitlin has been jilted just before her wedding by a cheating fiancé. She swears off men, but her good friends feel she needs to get back on the horse again. They make a bet with her...if she goes on 5 dates, they'll help her paint her new home. Eager to prove her girlfriends wrong, Kaitlin sets up date after date for one week, in order to get her home painted quickly and get this whole dating thing over with. On her first date, she meets a charming hunky bartender who quickly gets her attention, while she waits for her date to arrive. Is Paul the bartender really who he seems to be? Read and find out!

I love this story for so many reason it’s just a feel good all around love story that is going to stick with you for a long time. It’s one of those that you know what is coming before it comes but it still gives you a thrill when you read the ending. It warms your heart and makes you believe in romance and love. There is nothing worse than to have the one you love cheat on you, but with your sister that is more than anyone can take. There is no wonder that Kaitlin has decide to swear off men. Here wonderful friends aren’t going to let this happen, they come up with a plan. They will help her redo her home if she goes on 5 dates she had got this, no problem. She picks up 5 men to date and she gets free labor. Only one thing gets in her way a sexy bartender named Paul, the kicker is her ex is also named Paul….Oh my can this get any better. I assure you it does….. Paul has a secret when it comes out it could mean the end of them. Who could he be and what is this sexy blue eyed devil hiding. Paul isn’t about to let this little lady get away, from giving her his phone number to climbing down walls this little lady is going to fall for him. The author brings back the wonderful characters of the pier books, you get to catch up a little with what is new in their lives. She gives you a heartwarming love story with lots of passion. This is a starting over again to finding the right person for you. It is just a feel good book that leaves you with a feeling of peace and a smile on your face. I really loved this story even though I knew what was coming I still loved it.

This book sat on my kindle for months after receiving it – it was just after I split from my now ex fiancé after finding out he was cheating and reading romance was the last thing I wanted to do. Every time I turned my kindle on it would jump out at me so I eventually gave in, and it was the perfect read to get me back into the genre. Obviously, I was able to relate to Kaitlin and after reading an article about having to go on an average of 7 dates to find the next someone special, the idea of 5 dates in 5 days seemed the perfect way to go (no I didn’t try it, finding 1 person I wanted to date was hard enough!). Paul is the perfect gentleman and I loved reading how Kaitlin slowly let him in. The chemistry between the two of them is clearly evident, and with the easy writing style, the pages were soon coming to an end. It’s a quick, fun, entertaining and humorous read, and I thoroughly enjoyed every second of the sweet romance. I will definitely be reading this book again in the future. I received an e-copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
