Overview

Lie to you by J.C. Valentine

I thought he was the one. I thought we were headed someplace great. I didn't know anything.

My mystery man is no longer such a mystery. He's still commanding and headstrong, playing my body and mind like an instrument, but I'm finding there are layers to him I never could have dreamed. What I've learned since that fateful night in his apartment has me reeling. Now, though, the truth has taken a backstage to other, more pressing matters.

While I struggle to make a choice that will determine the direction of my future, lies that I thought had been carefully hidden away are coming to light. My head is such a mess I don't know what's up or down anymore. Will I be able to sort it all out, or will the life I've worked so hard to build come crashing down in a pile of secrets and lies?

I knew that J.C. Valentine was an amazing author, but I have to say she has really out done herself. This is one of the best books yet. I found that this book kept me on the edge of me seat and I just could not put it down. What an amazing read. Josephine is working as a stripper to help get thru college. She does not like to let anyone know about what type of work she does. It is her deep dark secret. She does not want the look of discussed or feeling dirty that people would give her if they knew. She meets this mystery man who rocks her world. She would of never dreamed that her mystery man would be two different men. Rebel and Ransom are so much alike but yet so different in so many ways. The levels they go thru to try to win Josephine will make your mouth drop. My favorite amongst the 2 is Rebel. I think he is more real and honest and just lays everything out there. This book does have one amazing cliffhanger. I was left screaming “NO she did not leave it there.” I am so needing the next book.

Oh hell, it can't end that way, I need more now. After book 1 ended with Joe finding out that there were two men, Ransom and Rebel, now she has to decide which one she wants to be with. They are as different as night and day except they are identical twins. But the truth is can she trust either one of them? Will she listen to her mind and heart and not just her body? I loved book 1 but book 2 is fantastic. I am not sure what will happen next but I can't wait to find out. If you haven't read anything from J.C. Valentine yet, let me tell you that you should read this series, it is well worth reading and you will not be disappointed. **Copy provided by the author in exchange for my honest review**

In the last installment Josephine just had the proverbial rug pulled out from under when she realized things with her mystery man weren't quite what she thought. She thought they were headed someplace serious, someplace that could lead to a future, and then there was a bomb dropped on their relationship and now she has no idea what the heck just happened or how to deal with it. Then if that isn't enough to deal with, her best friends' boyfriend decides to air some hidden secrets and stir up some drama that she doesn't really need in her life right now, and now her and her bestie are on the outs... which means she has no one to vent to. Joe is stuck between a rock and to hard places and she has no idea which is the right way to go... This second installment in the Forbidden series is just as addictive and mind twisting as the first, it is riddled with secrets, drama, and lots of steamy moments that will leave your tablet overheating and your toes curling!! Without giving too much of the story line away I will say that there is a love triangle in place and Josephine has found herself in a predicament that is nearly impossible to walk away from unscathed. There are bound to be some hurt feelings, broken hearts, and intense battles to be had here, and all I can say is be prepared to have your mind blown and your soul rattled! Ms. Valentine has completely outdone herself with this series, it is sure to go down as one of my all time favorite reads!! I highly recommend you get your hands on this series, it will blow your mind!! I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and voluntarily read and reviewed.

Josephine made a choice in this installment, but was it the right one? When last we left Josephine she just found out, she had been sleeping with twin brothers. Alike in looks but very different in personality. Which is why she didn’t notice it wasn’t the same man she was with, really come one who would. Josephine battled in the first book in her mind trying to rationalize her mystery man’s mood swings. Boy did she find out the answers to those questions in a major way. Ransom and Rebel do not have a bond, as you would expect most twins to have. These brothers seem to compete for everything. Ransom seems the more gentleman type, romantic and loving. While Rebel is the hardcore I take what I want type of guy, rough around the edges. Josephine had a tough choice ahead of her and I have to say that in the beginning of this book I wasn’t sure I was happy with the direction J.C. Valentine was going in so I took a break from it. I jumped back in over this weekend feet first and I am so glad I did. I found out something about myself when I have a lot of stress going on in life don’t read a book because my mind was not into it. The first book surprised me at every turn this second book was no exception. I love the character of Josephine at times she does make me want to smack her upside the head. However, as I have said before when a character has me reacting in such an emotional way it’s because the character is so well written. My heart broke for Josephine when her friendship with her best friend Annie started to unravel. I do not envy this girls life at all. Rebel is your typical hot alpha male bad boy. He exudes confidence and arrogance telling Josephine what he wants her to do rather than asking. Always taking what he wants without remorse, like Josephine I found myself both hating and loving Rebel. When he begins to let Josephine in their relationship seemed so easy and fun. Their sex scenes were scorching. Ransom I am not so sure about, he seems like a standup guy you think he has the best of intentions when it comes to Josephine but I don’t know I feel like there is something about him that isn’t right. He seems too perfect. We will see in the conclusion what the author has planned for these great characters. Falling for Him the third book in the trilogy will be out in August and I am so looking forward to reading it. The cliffhanger in this one had me screaming “No he didn’t!!” and No she didn’t!!” RECEIVED AN ARC IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW

This book picks up where Dance for Me left off. We were totally shocked to find out that Josephine had been seeing twin brothers and had no idea that there were two of them. Josephine is shocked and does not know how to react nor what she wants to do about being in a relationship with either Ransom or Rebel. Josephine has no one else but her best friend, Annie, because both of her parents have passed on. When she is forced by Annie’s boyfriend to come clean with a truth that she has been hiding from her, she looses her friendship with Annie as well. Josephine is all alone with her feelings and not knowing what she should do about her relationship with either brother. Josephine goes through emotional roller coasters when the brother’s start trying to win her for themselves. Rebel claims Josephine for himself and is very protective and forceful with his demands for her. Ransom keeps telling her that Rebel is seeing someone else and only wants her to win the bet of the two brothers. Josephine makes her choice between the two brothers and chooses Rebel. With Rebel being so protective and taking care of her so well, she feels sure that she has made the right choice. Josephine thinks that Rebel’s fling, boss and the woman that Josephine has worried about the whole time, is gone and out of the picture when she and Rebel take a weekend trip. Josephine is surprised to find out that she might need to rethink her choice between the two brothers though. I have really gotten into this series by J. C. Valentine and can’t wait for the next book!! Thanks J. C. for writing such great stories that keep us reading!!

**ARC for an honest review** Hot, hot, hot!!! Joe has a choice to make, but will she choose the right one?? I loved this - the suspense to panty melting sexiness and not one but two hot alpha males. I absolutely loved seeing another side of Rebel. And the ending.....OMG!!! Yes it a hell of a cliffhanger and has left me desperately wanting the next book NOW!! This was truly an amazing read that I could not put down with wanting to know what was going to happen next.

I'm truly enjoying the Forbidden Trilogy series by J.C. Valentine. Lie to You book 2 starts where Dance for Me ended. In order to get the full effect you need to read Dance for Me first and yes, this also ends as a cliffhanger. Josephine (Joe) has to decide who she wants to be with in this book. She is torn and doesn't know which way to go until one night changes everything for her. Does she go with Ransom, the teacher who is kind and compassionate or Rebel, ruthless and gets want he wants kind of man? Finally she makes her choice and a passionate relationship begins, but trouble begins when jealousy and trust comes into play. Joe has lost her bestie, Annie and has no one else to turn to for support; her relationship is being threatened by Rebel's boss, Florence. Is this all a game or is something else going on. You will need to read book 3 to find out. J.C. Valentine writes this story with a lot twists and turns and makes you wonder what will happen next. The writing is excellent and the story kept me page turning until the end. I can't wait to read the next book. I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Let me just say that this book was....Wholly Hell....Suspensetastic !! Who would have thought that Josephine would have to choose....between friends and lovers and enemies..... But when she thinks she learns the truth about the two men she thought was one, her whole life was being turned upside down and the one person she needed wasn't there anymore. They always say ..the past will catch up with you when you least expect it...well it did and Josephine needed her best friend right now and Annie needs her too but with finals work and the two men invading her mind Joe can't seem to get a handle on things. Rebel and Ransom aren't making things easy on her either...who is going to give her there heart or will her heart be broken in the meantime,..... Josephine is a strong good hearted woman that believes what you tell her but when pictures tell a different story words can't fix what you have seen with your own eyes..... This installment of the series was incredible ..... JC didn't hold back and gave us what we wanted and then some .... I have to say I loved Rebel but Ransom has a piece of your heart too....can't wait to see what happens because I am sitting at the edge of my seat !!!! Loved it !!!!

If you haven't read Dance For Me, go read that before you read this review. If you follow my reviews, you know I don't 5 star often. I was so engrossed in this story that any flaws that might be present went unnoticed because I was transported so far into Joe's life. I felt like I was living it right along with her. I did not want this story to end and am annoyed that I have to wait for the conclusion. Annoyed in the best possible way. Good things come to those who wait, right? Here's my review: YOU'RE MINE! I HAD YOU FIRST! Identical twin brothers...who would have thought? No wonder Joe was so confused in book 1. Two opposite personalities and attitudes as well as reactions to Joe. My goodness - the possession and the desire is off the charts. These men are sexy as hell and up for the challenge. Ransom and Rebel (seriously, could their names be any better or cooler?) are attempting to win the affection of Joe. After all, she's got a choice to make and the brothers have taken off the gloves. One brother is calling her his girlfriend while the other has called "dibs". Dinner with the family and meeting the parents took a drastic turn I wasn't expecting. The way she was treated when she arrived was vastly different when she ran out on dessert. I almost started to tear up due to the brothers' words and actions. The out of town trip was idyllic and something dreams and fairy tales are made from. I love the way Joe's mind works and the thought process she went through in order to decide who to take a chance on. I felt deeply for Joe when she came clean with Annie and hope to see the strength of that friendship again. I'm also interested to see how Brody handles the truth that Joe doesn't love him like he loves her. She's been honest and upfront, but there was that one semi-questionable night at the bar. I can't believe how invested I am in the secondary characters in this story. That's a HUGE compliment to Ms. Valentine and even more of a reason to warrant the five stars! I think that I know who's behind the latest cliff (and this one's steep) and how it was pulled off, but I keep being surprised in this story so I'm not holding my breath. If you're on the fence, I suggest that you JUMP. You need to pick up Dance For Me first. You won't be disappointed, but you will be hooked. Love this crazy, sexy triangle: The truth is out, they are twin brothers and Josephine had no idea she was dating both of them at the same time. Josie is blind-sided and doesn't know what to think – did they plan this? Do they do this often to women? Of course, Rebel and Ransom wonder the same thing about her – was she playing them off each other? Oh how the tangled webs have been woven and there are no easy answers. Rebel goes into full hard court press to win Josie for himself but events happen causing doubt for Josie. Ransom seems his sweet alter ego. What will she do? Who will she choose? Fabulously written erotic and suspenseful romance that keeps you guessing.

Would I lie to you baby? Would I lie? Wow! Just wow! This trilogy is so good! I could hardly wait to read Lie to Me after being left speechless at the end of Dance for Me. This storyline will captivate you from start to end. It’s suspenseful and so freakin hot. OMG! Secrets have a way of coming out and once that do, let the games begin. What started out as one mystery man ended up being two. Rebel and Ransom are playing poor Josephine’s heart like a fiddle. She’s so dang confused and mixed up. Secrets, lies and trust. What’s a girl to do? Who will she choose? Ends with a cliffhanger leaving me on pins and needles waiting for the next book in the trilogy. Which I will most definitely be reading. Received an ARC copy from author for a honest review.

Lie to You is the second book in the Forbidden Trilogy. In order to have any idea what is going on, you have to read the first book, Dance for Me. It completely sets the stage for Lie to You and has a shocking cliffhanger that ties the two books together. (If you’re interested, you can find my review for Dance for Me here on Goodreads.) Also, both books are for mature audiences only as they’re definitely in the erotic fiction category. I feel like I’ve been waiting forever to read Lie to Me. Ever since I finished Dance for Me and its cliffhanger threw me for a loop, I just had to know what Josephine was going to do. Lie to Me did not disappoint. It picked up right where Dance for Me ended. It was fast-paced, intense, scorchingly hot and has some great surprises. Since it’s a trilogy, of course it had another great cliffhanger. I really enjoyed reading it. Now, I’m impatiently waiting for the next book! You’re probably noticing my review looks a little sparse. Well, that because if I said anything more I would ruin it for anyone that hasn’t read the first book. I wouldn’t want to do that! I think readers that like enjoy erotic romance will really like this series. It’s definitely filled with fun surprises. Thank you to J.C. Valentine for allowing me to read and honestly review an ARC of Lie to Me.

JC Valentine takes you through the Josephine's struggles where her eyes are opening to things she never thought possible. I don't want to say too much because you need to read this without anything given away. Great read but YOU MUST READ Dance for Me first.

Oh my Good Lord, Joe. You are killing me! Could you be more indecisive? And Blind? Obviously, Florence is screwing with you. How do you not see that?! Or is Rebel a total scumbag? Or is Ransom behind it all?? The questions abound! If you were hoping that the mystery would be solved in this book, then you are SOL! But that's not a bad thing! Not a bad thing at all! Because now we definitely need a third book to answer all of the questions, and to figure out everyone's true agenda, and to find out who is good and who is inherently a dick. And a third book means more hot, hot, hot scenes! Yea us! Now to hurry up and wait for the next book...
