This book was fantastic!!! I just finished it last night and I am still thinking about the charaters and the story line. I was hooked on this book from the very first chapter and I did not want to put it down and it was so good to that I was sad when I finished it because I wanted to stay engrossed with these characters and their life. This book is a MUST READ!!! It is also very realistic and not far fetched and you have to remind yourself that this is just a story!! KGB

Interesting story idea. Good character development. I had a few issues with the writing style, but overall a fair enough read.

Great Book, easy to read. Liked the ending but like other reviewers was waiting for a little shocker at the end. Worth reading!

This book started out very good, the characters were interesting. Without revealing too much about the story, the main character Lucy, turned out to weak and exasperating. The story could have gone off in so many more intriguing possibilities than the one it actually did. I love reading books that keep you guessing. Unfortunately, this was not one of them. I would categorize this under my "fluff" reading section. The type of book I will read while waiting for the next really good book to arrive.

Good, but the story never really climaxed the way I expected it to. It was good, though -- a nice, easy read.

I'm pretty stingy when rating the books I read. That being said, I found the storyline interesting and well written but not thought provoking which is why I only gave it 3 stars. Lucy and Matt ended up together for the wrong reasons and tried to make a marriage work that was probably doomed from the start. My sympathies were initially biased towards Matt because he was a good husband and a good father but it wasn't enough for Lucy. My sympathies definitely shifted in favor of Lucy by part 3. What Matt did to Lucy and their kids was unforgivable but he justified his actions by telling himself he was doing what he felt was necessary to protect their kids. I suspect his actions had more to do with punishing Lucy for not loving him as much as he loved her but he married her knowing she was in love with someone else.

Really enjoyed this book; interesting characters and story. Was a little disappointed with the ending...was expecting more of a Jodi Piccoult shocker. Worth reading tho.

The author writes engaging story from two points of view. I felt sympathetic to both characters. It's a good book for book club discussion.

This is a story of love gone wrong.   Lucy was in “love” with the wrong man, Griffin.  Griffin is a man who only seemed able to take and was not giving anything back to Lucy.  He came across to me as they typical bad boy that all the girls fall in love with even though he is not good for her.  I think every girl know a guy like this, heck I know a few, but some are smart enough not to let them get their hooks in them.   Lucy unfortunately was not that lucky.   She chased after Griffin and he led her down the wrong path many times, yet she kept going back to him.  Then Lucy meets the “good guy” Matt.   Matt is what every girl is looking for.   The man who wants to love and protect his girl.   The man who would do anything in his power to make his woman happy.    This is the man Lucy settles for.   She wants to love him, she wants to support him as he supports her, and she wants to feel that  rush and excitement that she feels with Griffin for Matt.   Unfortunately things do not necessarily happen as she plans.   Lies You Wanted to Hear is a fast paced, amazing read.   I didn’t know what to expect as the story went on and was surprised at some of the twists and turns that happen.   The story is told in alternating points of view by Lucy and Matt.   I loved that.   This novel is a story that I stayed up late to finish and woke up the next morning still thinking about it.   It is now late afternoon and I am still thinking about it.  I wish I had read this with my book club as I can hear how our conversation would have gone.   In case you cannot tell I highly recommend this book to everyone.   Mothers and fathers alike will be able to relate to some part of this story.
