Life After Falling was serious, yet it was light. These are characters that everyone can relate to in some way. You may have been in their situation or something similar. They have that real feel with magnetic personalities to really bring them to life. I enjoyed watching their friendship grow from the first meeting to something more serious. The romance was intoxicating. I even got a few butterflies during some parts. I LOVE when a book can do that. Life After Falling by Alyssa Rose Ivy was kindly provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.

Cassidy has just up and quit her fiancé and her job and pretty much life all in one day. So she is packing up and moving back home without so much as a call. When she starts going through all her old items from her past, she finds a mixed tape that sets her future into motion. She just doesn't know it yet. I really, really liked this book. It was the perfect read for me at the most perfect time. Nothing flashy. Nothing popping out and going "BAM!" Just a really good, quick book. I am not sure what to really say about it but I liked it and recommend it and hope you pick it up and give it a go. I really enjoyed Cassidy. I wasn't overly in love with her character but I got her. She had a dry sense of humor and very monotone lifestyle. I am not sure if this is how she was before her life changed, or if her circumstances had made her this way. I want to think the latter. But either way, I dug this girl and her story. I would love to see a story emerge from her brother and his girlfriend. I see a storyline on the horizon and hope that is the direction Ivy is going. Either way, 5 Stars from me for this book!

4 star The story has laughs, suspense, secrets and heartbreak. This is Cassidy and Leo’s story. Cassidy is tired of settling so she quits her life. She goes back home after quitting her job and dumping her fiancé. She is now on a journey to listen to a mixed tape. She meets Leo who is working at a record store. The bickering and bantering these two do is funny. She got a tape player but the tape just does not seem to work. Now she will need to fix it. Can Cassidy and Leo work together to fix the tape? Along the way they develop a friendship that just might become more. Can they allow it to become more? Can they overcome the issues of their pasts to move on with each other? I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read. I recommend this book.

“Sometimes the best parts of life come after you’ve fall the furthest” It all started with a cassette tape and I fell in love. See, I’ve been a fan of Alyssa Rose Ivy’s for a long time. From the moment I picked up the Crescent Chronicles, she gained a fan for life. And with each new book, each new series that she writes, it just keeps getting better and better. Life After Falling is no exception and has quickly landed itself as one of my favorite books written by this author. Life After Falling is one of those books that is so refreshing, so unexpected. From the moment you meet Cassidy and Leo, it’s impossible to not fall in love with them. The two them have such awesome chemistry and enjoy the same things and their banter….man, I could listen to the two of them talk to each other all day. They challenge each other and they just get each other in such a special way. And I loved how real these characters were. That had real world problems and were trying to figure things out like the rest of us. Life After Falling was well written and captivating. I loved everything about this story, from start to finish. It left me breathless, with tears in my eyes and the biggest smile on my face. There aren’t enough words to express my love for this story. I mean, it gives you everything: Amazing characters, smart writing, a refreshing story-line and the type of romance that just makes you so happy! I love the message that was behind this story. It really puts life and things into perspective. It makes you want to live in the moment and not take anything for granted. And it reminds you that if you’re lucky enough to find that love, that one person who will take you and accept you for who you are, that you hold onto it with both hands.“Sometimes the best kind of life and love comes after falling.” Alyssa Rose Ivy has completely outdone herself with this book and I can not wait to read more from her in the future! *I was provided an ARC copy of this book, via InkSlinger PR, in exchange for an honest review*
