The Ferro sex appeal runs strong in all these men. Peter Ferro is no stranger to what the charisma he possesses can do to an unsuspecting female. In this story, we get the view of Peter's fated love - Gina Granz. Having found her journals as he is finally settling in with his soon to be wife, Sydney, Peter decides it is time to come clean with her. Perhaps reading Gina's journals will give Sydney a view of his other side. He feels like this dark side of him is buried deep inside him now, but would rather Sydney know this is part of who he is. Gina is such a good girl. I mean she listens to her parents, is always doing what is expected of her, and never straying to do anything that could be in any way compromising. One night, just one night, is all it takes to derail her life. Her friend Erin concocts a plan for a private, elite party and everything goes downhill from there. The sexual appeal that is Ferro is unmistakeable. The heat between our two main characters scorches the pages as we are left panting for more. As he quotes the words of the English poet Yeats: "When you are old and grey and full of sleep, And nodding by the fire, take down this book, And slowly read, and dream of the soft look Your eyes had once and of their shadows deep; How many loved your moments of glad grace, And loved your beauty with love false or true, But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you, And loved the sorrows of your changing face; And bending down beside the glowing bars, Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled And paced upon the mountains overhead And hid his face amid a crowd of stars." Ferro is trying to convince Gina to live her life. "It's a reminder not to waste your youth. Don't let yourself get hung up on what's right or wrong. Let yourself be desired, even if it isn't true love. Life is too short..." This series is not to be missed!

I love how all her books tie together in some form or fashion. I didn't think I'd like Gina as much as I did Sydney but I think Pete's attraction to her is because they seem to carry the same attributes. Their first accounts with each other are similar. I like seeing the Ferro come out in Pete as well. I remember him as an all around good guy from the Damaged series and not anything like Sean when it came to womanizing. I will be very intrigued to see how the story unfolds even though we know how it ends for Gina.

Another great book by Ward.  I especially love this book because it brings Peter Ferro back to me. Oh, and Sydney too of course.  In this book we get Peter's back story told through Gina's (his former love's) diaries.  What a great way to have Sydney learn about Peter's past then to be able to learn about it through someone else's eyes.  Another cliffhanger book since there are more to come but also oh so good.  The Ferro family is super addicting.  Keep them coming Ward.

H. M. Ward has done it again! I didn't think I could love Peter any more than I already do, but I knowing he was once a bad boy and changed his ways because of love or heartbreak (we don't know yet) makes me love him more. Gina is easy to like, she is funny and honest with herself. She also has more restraint that most women given the situation she gets into. I laughed out loud more than once and could not put the book down. Knowing her fate makes you fall for her as well. I cannot wait to see how she and Peter end up together though I know their time is short

**ARC Review - Spoiler Free** Wow.. If I wasn't already obsessed with Peter Ferro, I would totally be after reading this book! Seriously H.M. Ward, you have outdone yourself. I was completely captivated from page one. Although it feels like a slight betrayal to Sydney, I simply couldn't help but love Gina's character! Her sense of humor and quick wit won me over immediately! I so badly wanted her to let go of her "Good Girl" front and cut through the sexual tension of Pete Ferro!! This quote totally sums it up... "He is pure, sinful temptation".. Ugh... Waiting to know what happens next is pure masochistic torture!! Must have more!!!

Peter Ferro is my favorite Ferro so I was super excited about this book. Peter wants Sidney to know all of him, including his ugly past. In this first book in the Life Before Damaged series, Peter gives Sidney the journals he found when unpacking. These aren't just any journals, they belonged to Gina, and are an in-depth look into who Peter was in his past. Who he fears is still just below the surface. Peter loves Sydney so much that he needs her to know everything before their wedding. I loved getting to look into the early years of Peter. This book just scratches the surface of his past. We get to see what kind of person Gina is and how she has an affect on Peter from day one. I can't wait for more in Life Before Damaged 2.

Awesome & amazing, captivating & engaging, hot & steamy story about Peter's life before he met Avery.  Peter finds Gina's journals and wants Avery to read them.  Event though Peter is apprehensive and nervous, he still wants his dark side revealed to Avery before she makes a final decision to spend the rest of her life with him. Gina first sees Peter Ferro in the middle of a sex scene at a rave party.  At the party, Gina accidentally gets herself locked in a room, the building catches on fire, and someone rescues her.   Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, romantic story by the phenomenal author, H.M. Ward.  Can't wait for Volume 2.

I received an Advanced Readers Copy for my honest review. Let me just say that H.M. Ward keeps delivering these awesome stories that keeps us coming back for more, we are all hooked and can't wait for the next one to come out.  In this book we learn about Gina, Peter's fiancee that was killed. Peter discovers that Gina kept journals about their time together, being the man that he is, he gives the journals to Sidney to read. Peter thinks that Sidney needs to know this side of him because he knows that this part of him is still inside of him. I'm waiting for the next part, so I can find out how bad Peter really was. Thanks so much for this early copy, I read it from start to finish in about 2 hours. Holly, you are awesome.

I think I may be in the minority club here, but, while I very much enjoyed Damaged 1 & 2 with Peter & Syndey, I was a little bored with Peter. He wasn't that crazy, sexy as hell, alpha male like Sean, which I find so freaking sexy...but in Life Before Damaged, wooo weeee....Peter was HOT!!! I absolutely loved his cocky,I don't give a crap attitude!! I mean, I read these books because I want that guy that is so sexy & out of control but still capable of protecting & loving the right woman...but I do very much enjoy the fun parts leading up to a happy ever after. In most books, I wish there was more of the drawn out bad boy stuff. Lol. I loved this story, loved the idea of using Gina's diaries to tell the story. I think it was an amazing twist to tell it from her point of view not just Peter or Sydney's. This story is not much different from Holly's other Ferro books, meaning there is angst, sexy drawn out desire, turns you don't expect, obvious secrets, and of course, such a cliffhanger!! Wth Peter, you had Gina right where you, and me, wanted her!!! I like GIna, I think I expected to not like her, but even though she seems like a goody goody, I think there is fire just under that surface, and man,I can't wait to see what she has in store. I am loving the way Holly has chosen to give the back story about Peter. Another reason I adore her writing & her stories!! Loved this story, can't wait for #2, thank you Holly, for another awesome start to a series!!

In Life Before Damaged we get our first glimpse into Peter's life pre-Sidney. Peter discovers a box that contains Gina's journals.  He knows that these journals contain secrets that could distroy his relationship with Sidney, but she deserves to know Gina is your good, girl next door and just wants to live a little, thanks to her friend, Erin.  They host a secret rave party where disaster happens and lives are changed.

I loved this story, Peter is so sexy and the scene during the rave was hot and it was made even more  hot with Gina secretly watching. The author does such as good job having us feel Gina's fear when she is locked in that room. I love how Pete takes care of her and how they talk to each other is so  entertaining. The scene in his car with her best friend on the phone is hilarious. He teases her and  she takes the bait each time it is so funny. Then the mood switches and it gets real interesting and I am holding my breath wondering what is going to happen but then Pete does something surprising but I think it is going to be hurtful to Gina, I don't think she will understand what has happened.

Wow this might be the best book yet.  I love the twists and turns of H. M. Wards writing style and the cliff hanger too!  The mental foreplay was TOTALLY intense.  Great story !  I cant wait for the next book.

OMG, I can’t get enough of the Ferro men! I’m loving this back story of Peter. I get to see the sexy raw womanizer in all his bad boy kinkiness! I love when a book just sucks you in. I was so wrapped up in the story I felt like I was living it. Yes, it was that good. This is Peter’s story, the reason he feels damaged. Gina Granz, will she bring him to his knees, sure as hell seems that way to me!! I can’t wait for #2 This is a must read, another Ferro fav.

Funny, sexy and mysterious. Life Before Damaged is an exceptional read! The way Gina sees Peter interact for the first time is so hysterical. There are so many Gina moments that make her unique and I can see why Peter loved her. No need to enjoy this journey like I did. Prequels can be tricky. But not Holly Ward's! This woman is the queen of all Ferro. How effortlessly she writes; I felt like I was there watching from the sidelines while reading. Life Before Damaged is seriously OUTSTANDING! This is a must read. You won't be disappointed. I <3 Peter

Another great book in the Ferro saga. This was a great addition to Peter's story. It gives you a glimpse of Peter before Sydney and starts to tell the story of how he became Peter Granz. I loved the new direction this story went in and I can't wait for the next one. As always, Ms. Ward has provided a thoroughly entertaining book that leaves me waiting- VERY IMPATIENTLY- for the next installment. Hats of to you Ms. Ward.

I bet it's a great book. I really do but i'll never know bc Ward doesn't understand the idea of writing a FULL book! In the end i'll never be able to afford her books- ALL of them anyways. *Note to Ward: please stop being greedy and write a book and finish it.
