I ordered the "LIFE Gone with the Wind" book for my daughter's birthday. She's a huge fan of the movie and I knew it was something she would enjoy. I placed my original order on the Barnes & Noble web site 12/16/14 and received a confirmation that the book was "on its' way" on 12/17/14. Then, the waiting began. I was unable to track my purchase through the UPS web site right from the start and I received no further information from either Barnes & Noble, or UPS until I took the time to sit on hold after placing a call to Barnes & Noble on 12/30/14. At that time, I was told my book "was lost in transit" and was offered expedited shipping for a replacement at no additional charge. I accepted that offer and was told I should receive my new book in no more than 3 days. Well, UPS finally delivered my book to me -- on JANUARY 5, 2015! To top it off, the book arrived damaged, with the upper right corner of the book jacket crinkled over. My guess is that the damage occurred due to the fact that the packaging was less than great. The book was simply stuffed into a thin, cardboard sleeve, without any additional wrapping (such as bubble wrap, for example). I haven't returned the book yet, because my daughter's birthday is this weekend and I want to be sure I have it for her to unwrap, but you can be sure I'll be heading to my local Barnes and Noble store after that to complain and demand a replacement. Needless to say, I will not be ordering from Barnes & Noble again in the future!
