I like this series. I like the characters and uncomplicated plots. Not exactly great literature but fun to escape to for a few hours. Thumbs up.

Cookie James just can't catch a break. She and her mom fled Philly (PA), escaping danger from the mob. Since arriving on Secret Seal Isle, she's already been entangled in one murder. Now while out on a date, with Dylan, they've encountered another! Not exactly the quiet life she was expecting! Can't help becoming immersed in this funny, fast paced cozy mystery. Hunter returns, as tempting as ever; Rain adds her zany contributions to the mix. Of course, the hot, handyman (waiting to find out his story), brings more alpha heat! Enjoy! Book free for honest review.

The crazy team is back together again ! Cookie is an FBI agent hiding from a mob family at Secret Seal Isle. Her handyman/ want to be boyfriend (Dylan Creed) takes her out on another date because the last one got messed up well this one does too. See they find a boat with a dead body. Yea the universe hate her. If that not enough to mess up her love life Dylan 's old girlfriend comes to town because the guy they found was her brother. Then book s a room at her inn. Hold on there is more the local cops call in help for the case and it's her old FBI partner and still hot for her. OMG what's a girl to do beside lose her mind? Lol If you are a mystery fan this IS your book. What an awesome storyline. The characters are fantastic. I couldn't put this story down. It was so much fun. I adored this fun mystery with all its twists and turns. Book given for an honest review and I honestly loved it.

This is a great book; this is the second book in the Secret Seal Isle Mystery series written by Lucy Quinn. Cookie James is an FBI agent and also an Innkeeper she is looking forward to a romantic date with Dylan, her hot handy man. While on their picnic she finds a dead boy in a boat. It is up to Cookie to find the killer and wrap up the case. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Dylan and Cookie were on their way by boat to have an undisturbed romantic picnic at Lookout Point; a small private island. Unfortunately, their date is cut short when they stumble upon a lonely boat with a dead body. All thoughts of romance are forgotten when Cookie goes into FBI catch the bad guy mode. At the request of the Sheriff, FBI Agent Hunter, Cookie’s ex-partner comes to Secret Seal Isle to work with Cookie in the investigation of the crime. When Cookie’s rock star idol shows up at her Inn and apparently is an old flame of Dylan’s a bit of jealousy swirls inside her. Hunter and Cookie start their investigation by questioning the locals. Unbeknownst to Hunter and Cookie there is another crime in progress on the Isle that is intertwined with the dead body. With a mystery to solve, making sure her loosey-goosey mom stays out of trouble and keeping her feelings for Hunter and Dylan in check, she has a lot to deal with. The author captures the reader’s attention with the powerful vivid scene descriptions, quick-witted dialogue, and priceless humor. There is gripping suspense, spine-chilling action, family drama, a bit of sexual tension too that keeps you more than intrigued until the end. The characters are certainly praise-worthy each having a unique persona that you can relate to. I loved this story as it was uplifting and the mystery was superb; a most entertaining read. I can’t wait to see what happens next in the life of Cookie James; hopefully, she does get to finish a date with buffed handyman Dylan. If you treasure intriguing mysteries with lots of humor this is a fantastic addition to your library. {I was gifted this book and this is my honest review.} In the world of mystery romance, the magic begins with the first thought to paper. Without reservations, I recommend this book.

Two hotties and she isn't taking either one of them—yet. Of course, finding a corpse tends to ruin the romance of boat ride and a picnic. Cookie, in hiding FBI agent, gets involved with solving the case along with her former partner (one of the hotties) when the locals call in the FBI and deputize her. Thrown together with hot Hunter, and her singing idol, she's distracted from Dylan—until he turns out to have a history with the singer. With all the distractions, you'd think solving the case would be impossible. Not for Cookie. If she can deal with her mother (you have to read about her to understand) she can stay focused. Well, mostly. It is fun watching her deal with Hunter to solve the case. Except with Cookie and those around her, the end is rarely that simple. Is she going to choose between Hunter and Dylan? Solve the case? Figure out why her idol is really on Seal Island? A good read, interesting, fun read with sexy characters, clues that lead one way, but never quite giving it away. I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope Ms. Quinn keeps her fingers typing away. I can't wait for the next one. I was provided an ARC for an honest review.
