About the Author

Jan Gordon grew up in London, England, and emigrated to Israel in her early twenties. After many years of working as a secretary in various media companies, both in the U.K. and Israel, she took time off to raise her two sons. In 2006, after many years of reading fanfiction for an old American TV series, Scarecrow & Mrs. King, she decided to pick up her pen, or rather her keyboard, and wrote her first story, a collaboration with another fanfiction writer, Amy F. (TwoPhantoms1), and the writing partnership of The Yank and The Brit was born. Three years later Jan answered a writing challenge on a fan site for that same TV show and wrote a short original piece and posted it to the group. The characters in that story wouldn’t leave her alone and eventually she gave in and wrote their story. That story was “Black Silk”, a paranormal romance about were panthers. Jan posted “Black Silk” on the fan site and it received such a good reception from the other members, she branched out and posted it on other sites, including Smashwords. One of the members of the fan site, another fanfiction writer, Charlie, made a comment in her review of the shifter story that sparked an idea, and in reply Jan told her she should use that concept in a story because it sounded fantastic. That ‘idea’ became “Forever In Time” by, the newly named, Nicky Charles. After Nicky’s first two books, Jan started working with her as editor and neither has looked back since. Jan has since written “Life In The Shadows”, a paranormal romance anthology and a prequel, of sorts, to “Black Silk”. Nicky Charles collaborated with Jan on one of the stories in “Life In The Shadows” which combined her wolves and Jan’s panthers. They enjoyed the endeavour so much that they decided to repeat the experience – the result was “In The Cards”. Jan Gordon now lives in Jerusalem, Israel, with her husband and two adult sons. She and her husband often travel to North America and the U.K. to see family and friends. Although Jan both writes and edits paranormal romance, she rarely reads that genre for pleasure. Since discovering author Georgette Heyer as a young teen, her passion for reading Regency romance has never dimmed. Apart from reading, which she does whenever time allows, her other favourite pastimes are cooking and doing Pilates.

Life in the Shadows is an Awesome story, in the life of the supernatural world of the were-cat. The love and romance between the characters always kept me on flame. Living life in secret, but so fully and the twist that life throws. I loved the relationship they all had with each other. It kept me coming back for more. I did end up reading:Black Silk, first, which I believe is the second book. Which worked almost perfectly together, there was a little of the ending that I was conflicted about but they were still awesome books. The details and describes never let me down, putting myself into the book its self. I love both books very much and look forward to read many more of her books. Thank You

Genius, Jan Gordon, & Nicky Charles, I am so happy that the two of yous found each other and are brain storming together to keep our well loved Werewolfs stories with now our new found love Werepanthers. It's truly a beautiful mix. I know the fans are ecstatic. Thank you both for collaborating together and giving us the gift of reading these well thought out stories for a little longer. This book takes you back to the beginnings of Malik and how his story comes to the present in Black Silk. I love Jan Gordon and the stories of Life in the Shadows and Black Silk. If you enjoy paranormal romance, or if you have yet to read these types of books, then you should read these books. Jan brings the characters to life, and for me, she transports me into their world. Looking forward to reading more from Jan.

Having read Black Silk already I was informed about certain things. When I started this anthology I was able to grasp it better. The stories draw you in and the centuries fly by. I wish some were longer but then we would have more than can be handled. A good read if you just sit back and believe the wild and strange. Enjoyed the duo with Nicky Charles. Having read her series also helped with the final chapter. Looking forward to the story where father and son reunite.

I read Black Sil when it frs cam out and I loved and hated it at the same time. I loved it because it was a great book. I hated it because it was the worst cliffhanger ever! It cuts off right when Cole proposes to Vic and she ...uhum... says yes upstairs if you know what I mean. I think these books are appropriate for people 13+ evwn though I am 12...

This story starts with Malik and Tamera were panthers and goes through hundreds of years of their lives and their childrens lives. It tells of many battles fought and brings in actual people that really fought and led those battles. Wonderful loving story I did not want to end.
