This is an amazing book of photography by an incredible human being. Photographer John Dugdale's photography provides a unique interpretation of his tale of tragedy and survival as told through his timeless and beautiful, blue cyanotype photos. Dugdale was a commercial photographer but was forced to turn to a purely artistic career after an AIDS-related condition left him legally blind. (He is blind in one eye and retains only 20% peripheral vision in the other) His work stands as a testament to the human spirit and appeals to everyone, regardless of age, race, sexual orientation or gender. I've shown these photographs to people from all walks of life and they all react the same. They are stunned by the visually arresting images and the layers of meaning in the pictures. Anecdotes written by the photographer accompany each picture and provide an interesting account of what the artist was trying to express. This is a truly inspiring book. If you are going through any kind of ordeal or know someone who is experiencing difficulty or if you just appreciate the beauty that can be found in life, you will draw inspiration from this volume of work.
This book is a collection of beautiful photographs. Breathtaking cyanotypes. Definately worth getting.
