I don't do relationships. I've lived my life hiding my scars, revealing myself only in the scripts I write and the characters I voice. Few people know the real me. I'm too careful. Too afraid of getting burned all over again.

Enter Beverly Martin. A movie star. A woman so beautiful and caring she makes my heart ache. She says she wants me - and her touch almost makes me believe a girl like her could love a man like me. But being with her would mean letting the spotlight of fame shine on me, too. I'm not sure I can do that - even if walking away means losing the woman I love.

I can’t believe we are nearly at the end of one of my favourite series Light My Fire is book 11 or Mr November in the Man of the Month Series and for me each book has been better than the last and this is one is no different I loved it. Griffin Blaize avoids the spotlight because is badly scarred and in constant pain from a terrible accident when he was only 13 he is very self conscious and spends most of his time working from home as a voiceover actor and writing when he does venture out he is covered by his trusted hoodie. Beverly Martin is a successful actress and once she read his script she knew she had to do it she also needed to meet the man behind the words and when she finally met him she only ever saw the man never his scars and she fell hook line and sinker for the hot guy with the ripped body. Finally it’s the turn of the woman who has had a hand in each of the previous romances through her job as emcee at The Fix Man of the Month contest to find her own true love but will Griff trust her enough to except she doesn’t see his scars she only sees the man she has fallen in love with. I’m sad that we are coming to the end of this series because everyone of these characters have become a friend and I don’t want to say goodbye. This is a must read series for all lovers of romance.

I've wanted to read Griffin's story ever since I finished Wicked Grind (Wyatt and Kelsey's story). I knew that with the physical and emotional scars he suffered as a child, it will take an extraordinary woman to claim his heart. And Beverly is nothing less than extraordinary. Though Griffin and Beverly start off as friends and collaborators, each one of them harbours secret feelings for the other. But revealing those feelings was never on the table, until they just can't be avoided any more. But the pressure of fame and Hollywood is threatening to destroy their budding romance until one adorable teenager puts Griffin in his place. I am not going to reveal any more from this incredible short story. But if you are a fan of a tortured hero, hot encounters and grand gestures, be sure to check out this latest instalment in the Man of the Month series. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Griffin Blaize/Draper might be the fiercest Man of the Month hero. Die-hard readers were first introduced to Griffin in Wicked Grind, his sister Kelsey's story, which took place in Los Angeles. Griffin moved to Austin to pursue his own career and often used our friendly neighborhood bar, The Fix on Sixth, as his working office writing scripts for his podcasts. As a regular, he has witnessed all the previous Man of the Month contests, with our heroine, Beverly Martin, a rising movie star, as the emcee. The two of them end up spending a lot of time together editing a screenplay they co-wrote, which has been optioned by a studio to turn into a movie. The story is told from a dual POV so we know each harbors strong feelings for the other but each are afraid to make the first move and possibly upset the friendship balance. When I found out Griffin would have his own story, I was very curious to know how Ms. Kenner was going to incorporate a physically scarred Hero into a "calendar model". Light My Fire follows the beauty and the beast story trope, and Kenner did not disappoint by taking a wonderful friendship and building up a combustible romance for these two! I was on the edge trying to figure out how Griffin and Beverly would reach their HEA, and I loved the catalyst that pushed Griffin to a satisfying ending!

LIGHT MY FIRE by J. Kenner is book 11 in the Man of the Month series. This is the story of Griffin and Beverly. I have read the previous books but feel this can be a standalone book. Griffin was burned as a child and since much of his life behind a hoodie and a computer. Beverly is a movie star but a down to earth one that is caring. Griffin is attracted to her but with his scarring issue he doesn't think he would have a chance nor would he be able to handle the spotlight. Beverly sees past Griffin scars and sees a man too love. Their story had a underlining theme of Beauty and the Beast I thought. I really enjoyed reading their story...a great addition to this series.

Light My Fire by J. Kenner is the eleventh book in her new 12 book Man of the Month series. Told in dual POV this is the story of Griffin and Beverly, a scarred man with a heart of gold and the indie-movie star beauty who fell for him inside and out. Finally, Griffin's story - I have eagerly awaited his tale. Scarred from horrific burns as a child he keep his trusted hoodie on at almost al times and does not interact well with strangers. A regular at the fix, a voice actor for his popular podcast and now a screen-writer, her is in close proximity on most days to the breakout indie movie star, Beverly. He is rapidly falling for her but with his hangups about his scars he won't ever let things get to that point where he could actually be in a relationship with her. Beverly has fallen for Griffin, hard. She knows he is very sensitive about his scarring but his personality, his hot body (because scars or not, dude works out), and his intense and brooding eyes, she is definitely falling for him. She knows he is worth it but how can she convince himself that his scars don't make him less of a person in her eyes or in others? Well-written and well-paced, this was another great read and I'm excited with how each of the upcoming characters are gently weaved into the plots in earlier stories without being obtrusive to the current story. Enjoy!

This was such a cute, sweet story! Its a modern Beauty and the Beast with a twist. Its a short story, very fast paced but I was so excited to get Griffin story. he's been part of the series and I wanted to know his story and wanted a HEA. and he gets that in this story. He hides himself from the world after an accident when he was younger. He just didn't think anyone could possibly love him with all his scars. But Beverly Martin, see beyond the scars. She falls for him. For the man he is. Beverly helps him deal with coming out of the shadows. she fights to prove someone can love him. I liked these two. my heart felt so much for Griffin and his struggle. But Mrs. Kenner wrote such a cute and amazing story for them!

For Griffin to have his own book makes me happy! This is the 11th book of this series and I am so glad we see Griff happy! What a great story about inner beauty and not looks! I love Griffin! Even if you have not read the last 10... this is the book you need to read! Makes you realize everyone should have a chance of happiness no matter what! Thanks Ms Kenner LOVE LOVE THIS ONE!

I have been waiting patiently for Griffin's story from his first introduction during Wicked Grind.  Griffin suffers terribly from low self-esteem due to a horrific accident when he was just a young boy leaving him with disfiguring scars on one side of his body. Although he is quite reclusive he has made great strides in his professional career, while maintaining his anonymity in the public eye. Working closely with Beverley has fueled a lot of Griffin's fantasies but he is too insecure to pursue anything with her. Luckily, Beverley is a modern woman who goes after what she wants and she wants Griffin. Convincing of her sincerity is the main issue as well as him being brave enough to admit his own feelings.  Being together is wonderful for both Griffin and Beverley, however, Beverley's work schedule and life in the public eye are barriers for them both. The main obstacle to their HEA is Griffin's fear of being ridiculed for his scars. It takes a wise teenager to put Griffin in his place and make him put his words into actions. Another of the main characters is next in line for their own story, Brent!!!!!!!!!

4.5 stars This is the eleventh book in the Man of the Month series and it is a page turner. Griffin has no desire to be in the limelight because of his severe disfigurement from when he was a child. Beverly is a sought-after Hollywood actress currently doing her mc duties for the Man of the Month contest held at The Fix on Sixth. She is thrilled to be a part of a new movie written by Griffin and is even more excited to spend time working on revisions with him. The more time she spends with Griffin, the harder she is falling for the man. Griffin would do anything to have a woman like Beverly. However, he is guarding his heart against heartache as he does not believe that Beverly could be attracted to someone like him. Will Griffin get the courage to act on his feelings for Beverly? Can Beverly be with Griffin if he wants to maintain a long-distance relationship? Can they find a compromise that will placate them both? This is one heartwarming read and I highly recommend it along with the other books in the series. I look forward to reading Brent’s story coming up next. I volunteered to read an advance copy of this book.

5 Star Review Light My Fire (Man of the Month #11) by J Kenner This is the eleventh book in the series and is Griffin and Beverly’s story. Light My Fire blew me away from the first page to the last. I have been waiting anxiously for Griffin’s story. I knew it was going to be amazing and it did not disappoint in any way. From the glimpses we have seen of Griffin throughout the series, his was the story I couldn’t wait to read. My heart broke for him as Griffin was badly burnt as a child. It has left him badly scared, both inside and out. He doesn’t believe that any one, particularly Bev, could possibly be interested in him. Although he has his friends from The Fix, he still holds himself apart, convinced he will never be truly accepted. Beverly’s feelings for Griffin have grown over the months she has known him. She wants to take their friendship further but is hindered by the walls that he has put up. The chemistry between Griffin and Beverly is intense but these two deserve to find their happiness together. Can Bev break down his walls? Or is Griffin destined to live vicariously through his friends? Can Griffin face the publicity dating Beverly will bring or will he wall away from love? Knowing that there is only one more book left in this series is bittersweet. The books in this series can easily be read as stand alone, but since they are not that long and a quick and easy read I would recommend you one click them all.

Light My Fire written by J. Kenner 5+++ “He’d let her live too long in his fantasies, spinning movies in his head where she was in his arms, her hands touching him, her lips kissing him. Her face revealing only love and not the slightest bit of disgust.” So bittersweet getting my hands on this book. I couldn’t wait to meet Mr. November and then I just kept thinking slow down and enjoy there is only one book left in the Man of the Month Series. Couldn’t this be a weekly contest instead of monthly? I’m not ready to have this series end. Hopefully The Fix couples can appear in later J Kenner books...hint, hint! Just a slight mention of the Starks in any other book puts a smile on my face...the calendar men would do the same in later series! “She couldn’t be in the same room with him without fighting her way through an electrical storm of attraction, all the more intense because he never let lightning strike.” Kenner has a way of taking an emotional struggle within someone and bringing beauty and light to the subject. I love the gentle, real exposure of the physical and emotional turmoil that lives within many and then she turns it into hope, love and light without dismissing the daily struggle it causes many. She brings awareness and healing while never underestimating the intensity, fear and insecurity it holds on the owner. “ inside a snow globe while the outside world shook him up...” A snippet of Mr. December appears as though a possible taboo subject may be headed our way...knowing J Kenner she will shed light on the subject from a new direction and leave us cheering for this couple. Walk the Line is sure to bring us controversy and challenge. Lucky for me I don’t back down from a good challenge.

Light My Fire by J. Kenner is Man of the Month book 11. Griffin Draper is a writer and he recently has been spending a lot of time working with move star Beverly Martin and with her help his script is about to be picked up for a hit movie. The chemistry between Griffin and Beverly is undeniable, but Griffin has a problem. Scarred by a fire at age 12, he never lets anyone close or anyone see him. Beverley knows that Griffin is hiding himself but what they share is something that will not be deterred by scars. These are characters we know from the past books, with others from J. Kenner's diverse and complex Stark World. The meaning that is hidden in Light My Fire about letting people past the surface and scars being more than just skin deep, make this more than just a romance. This book was more Griffin's story about letting love in, including his own for himself. The character's click together and make for a sweet, passionate and loving story. Overall I enjoyed Light My Fire by J. Kenner, both as part of the series and the overall world, but also as a story about finding yourself and not letting past scars stop you from future happiness. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book I received for free from the publisher in exchange for my open and honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.)

I have been waiting for Griffin's story ever since he was introduced in a previous series and watching him in the background of the other books in this series he has that special something and now he has found his special someone or I should say his special someone finally broke through his walls and took him down. Beverly Martin is a rising star and when she was slipped Griffin's script to read she fell for his words and had to meet him and once she did she found the man behind the words was someone special. She saw behind the scars until the scars were no longer visible to her. This was a beautifully told story of healing and learning to love not only someone else but to love yourself. This one can be read as a standalone, as all of this series can, but do yourself a favor and read them all. I cannot believe there is only one more left! **Received this ARC for review**

I have anxiously been waiting for Griffin's story. I have been intrigued with his story ever since his sister's book. I would have loved to have seen Griffin's story in a full length novel though versus a novella. Beverly and Griffin's story was so touching, but I felt like it could have been so much more if the story was more developed. I continue to enjoy this series though. I have really enjoyed meeting all of the couples. Griffin and Beverly's story was a good one, I just would have loved so much more.

This book was a hard one to rate. So probably really I'd give it 3.5 stars. While it took half the book for them to really get together, as soon as they did, it was a night of sex and then they were a couple immediately the next day. Which, yay, it should always be like that, but it made quite a jump for me to believe. I liked the connection between Beverly and Griffin, and even though we'd met them before in other parts of this series, it still felt like we missed out on a lot for this. I wanted a whole book dedicated to all of their time together. More with Griffin's back story. More with Beverly's story before they got together. Missing out on those things, or at least feeling like they were missing made the ending feel a little off as well. I had trouble believing that Griffin would go to quite the extreme he did without more. This was a very quick read, almost felt shorter than the others have been. It's definitely worth a read. I liked it, don't get me wrong. If you take one thing away from this review, know that I would be happy to read this story again, fleshed out with all the things that I felt were missing. I'd love if the author had time for that!

J. Kenner did Griffin justice in Light My Fire! If you've been following this fantastic series, you will have known that Griffin is coming, I was so looking forward to his story, and J. Kenner didn't let me down. The talented burn victim doesn't feel that he can be himself around anyone, but Beverly just isn't having any of that. This friends-to-lovers story warms your heart, and leaves you feeling complete. I adored the two of them together, the push and pull was just right. I look forward to seeing these two in the final Man of the Month book and what they've been up to. This is a complete standalone, but after reading it, you'll want to dive into the others for sure!

After reading each previous MOTM books, Griffin's story had me the most intrigued. I think because his romance story with Beverly reminds me of my favorite fairy tale story, Beauty and the Beast. Griffin has hidden in the shadows, but his beautiful work keeps bringing him back into the spotlight. When Beverly enters the picture, she falls in love with what is behind the scars. Their journey for a HEA will have your emotions all over the place. Light My Fire had me holding my breath until the very last page! I can not believe we are already with book 11! This series is a whole lot of sexy and fun! These characters help this series bloom into something magical!

As regulars we all know about Grif and his scars but I mean come on, he's such a great guy and I want him so bad maybe this is my chance. Beverly knows she'll have to make major compromises but wonders if it's worth it to always worry. She really wonders what it will take to move pass the friend zone to the it's about time zone!! This author does it again conquering a real fear/pain with a light touch. Grif is awesome but doesn't give himself the chance to prove it because of his past. Beverly and a few others have something to say about that and now he might too. Great story that fits right in with the calendar and the rest of the stories. This one while a little more serious is still fun and hot and yea you have to read it.

Readers who are up-to-date with J. Kenner’s Man of the Month series are no stranger to Light My Fire’s leading man, Griffin, but even though we’ve seen him in the background and in his interactions with the other couples of the series, it’s not until his own story that we’re introduced to the ‘real’ Griffin, the one who prefers to work and live behind-the-scenes…the one whose internal and external scars dictate how he lives his life and who he allows inside his inner circle. That’s the Griffin that readers have been waiting to meet and that’s the man who deserves his happily ever after, just like all the men of the month that have come before him. But while The Fix on 6th has become Griffin’s home away from home, allowing him to become friends with a small group of people, who feel more like family, accept him as he is, there’s still something missing from his life, and even though he’s not one to put himself in the spotlight nor does he feel worthy of a beautiful woman like Beverly Martin, there comes a point where Griffin cannot deny his attraction to her or his need to be by her side, even if it makes him feel J. Kenner paired Griffin up with his perfect girl because despite the fact that Beverly is a movie star and used to being in the spotlight, she’s a caring and down-to-earth woman who has been enamored with Griffin, first through his words and then through the man who he is beyond the scars, and while it’s not an easy challenge to take on, Beverly understands its importance and willingly takes on this difficult role because it’s one that will ensure her the best life and partner possible. It amazes me how much story J. Kenner packs into these Man of the Month stories; it’s a fast-paced read that builds a complete plot and develops the personalities of its main characters and while I’m sure there would be even more development and characterization if the stories were a bit longer, the texts are meant to be quick, standalone steamy romances with a ‘guaranteed happily ever after,’ and each one definitely fills that role. 4 Poison Apples

I have been looking forward to Griffin's story for so long and it didn't disappoint! I loved Griffin and Beverly's story. Griffin the damaged on the inside and outside, but oh so talented guy and Beverly the beautiful movie star are drawn to each other and develop a great friendship and working relationship. They fall for each other more and more every day they spend together. When they finally work up their courage and admit their feelings to one another, it leads them to love and happiness. Griffin never thought he'd have a relationship and I loved that Beverly saw past his physical scars to the wonderful man on the inside. Truly loved their love story!

I’ve been waiting for Griffin’s book ever since he appeared in the first book of the Wicked Trilogy. While this book can be read as a stand alone, if you haven’t read any of the other Man of the Month books, than this will come off as an insta-love story. Just like Book 10 this one takes place from the Mr. October to Mr. November “crowning” of Man of the month. If you have been reading the series than you know the ground work was already laid out for this couple. It’s amazing what you’ll over come for the woman that you love as proven by Griff. Also could Beverly be anymore perfect with truly seeing past his scars. Even though we’ve met Griff and know his history, I really wish his book would have been more novel than novella length. Also an additional issue I have is the character Matthew Holt (I think this character appears in other books) has the same first name and initials as Matthew Herrington from In Too Deep (Mr. October), it’s a little confusing.

I first met Griffin in Wicked Grind, so I’ve been anxiously awaiting his story. His story was sweet, emotional and I LOVED it! He has never truly gotten over what happened to him in the past. Beverly is someone he works well with and he developed a friendship with her but Griffin isn’t one to let his guard down.

tender, sweet and spicy LIGHT MY FIRE is the eleventh instalment in J. Kenner’s contemporary, adult MAN OF THE MONTH novella, romance series focusing on a fund raiser for the popular Austin, Texas bar known as The Fix. This is writer and podcaster /voice actor Griffin ‘Blaize’ Draper, and actress Beverly Martin’s story line. LIGHT MY FIRE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary although I recommend reading the series in order for backstory and cohesion. SOME BACKGROUND: The Fix on Sixth, a local Austin hangout and bar, is in desperate need of renovations and a quick influx of cash so a plan is put into motion, by a group of regulars, a plan that includes a Man of the Month calendar competition, a recipe book, and a reality show aimed at rehabbing the bar. Told from dual third person perspectives (Griffin and Beverly) LIGHT MY FIRE follows the slow building romance between writer and podcaster /voice actor Griffin ‘Blaize’ Draper, and actress Beverly Martin. For months Griffin and Beverly have been dancing around once another but Griffin hides the painful reminders of a childhood accident, an accident that has left our hero both emotionally and physically scarred. When his most recent manuscript is selected for Beverly’s next movie, our leading couple must work together in an effort to prepare the manuscript for final reading. What ensues is the barely veiled palpable sexual energy and attraction between Beverly and Griffin, and the potential fall-out as Griffin struggles with the paparazzi, Hollywood’s perception of beauty, and the scars that are attracting some unwanted attention. LIGHT MY FIRE is a quick read; a story of the physical vs the mental; of one man’s struggle to move on with his life, and of one woman who has fallen in love with his heart and his soul. The premise is engaging, revealing and emotional; the romance is passionate and seductive; the characters are real and energetic. LIGHT MY FIRE is a tender, sweet and spicy story where love does conquer all.
