When we returned from a mission in Vietnam one evening after dark, we pivoted the helicopter in a circle with our landing light and our searchlight on to determine if we had unwanted company.” Those lights would illuminate every place they shined but there were still shadows. John informs us that, "God is light” (1 John 1:5). With him, there is no shadow because he not only is the source of light. He is light.
The writer of “Lighting the Path of Righteousness spent a considerable amount of time listening on the phone to an individual accusing him of “Works salvation” that isn’t the case. Paul said in Ephesians 2:10 NIV: “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” We don’t work to be saved but our works (lifestyle) is the result of having been saved, but some are dismissive of that biblical truth, or don’t know about it. The purpose of writing “Lighting the Path of Righteousness” is to point out the way to salvation and shine a light on the path for a righteous, individual to follow.
Jesus pointed out two paths: one that leads to everlasting life and one that leads to everlasting destruction which one are you following?
