Although the story of the popular boy at school falling for the unpopular girl may have been told several times before, "Like You Mean It" provides a more unique setting. Danni and her best friends Chelsea and Marcy are smart girls that get good grades, but are never noticed by any of the boys at their school. In Danni's case, when would like nothing more than to be noticed by Darren, who she has had a huge crush on ever since she first laid eyes on him and who happens to be one of the most popular boys in school. Danni never thought she had a chance with Darren, then after a car accident that resulted in Darren getting injured and losing his left arm, Danni finds the courage to visit Darren in the hospital and her wildest dreams come true when Darren asks her to be his girlfriend. But things won't be easy for Darren and Danni. Darren fears that Danni is only with him because she pities him and Danni fears that Darren only wants her because he doesn't believe he will ever be able to get another girlfriend now that he is missing one arm. Can Darren and Danni work out their problems or will their doubts tear them apart?

Awful, just plain AWFUL. Not to mention GROSS. Recommended ages 11 and up. Or higher. And, its plotg is so predictable and boring. Come on, biggest nobody gets the biggest slmebody? I am not done with it, but so far? Yeah, its a good thing this books free. To bad I can't rate it zero.
