About the Author

Traci Andrighetti is a writer, literary translator and Italophile. If she's not working, Traci is probably watching reality TV, eating Tex Mex or sampling fruity cocktails, and maybe all at the same time. She lives in Austin with her husband, young son (who desperately wants to be in one of her books) and three treat-addicted dogs.

PI, ex-cop, NOLA, stripper, stress buster, humor, no gratuitous erotica, What's not to like? Franki really wanted to be a cop, but her mentor was a sleazebag and her lover seemed to prefer lady wrestlers, so she packed up and left Texas for NOLA and her best friend's PI agency. The smothering Italian family had her phone number, though. The verbal humor is great, but the situational humor is guaranteed to have you snorting your caffeine! The publisher's blurb gives hints, but can't really do justice to things like the eccentric ex-stripper who still dresses for pole dancing, or some of the antics the characters get up to. A fun escape read! I had the ebook, but forgot about it until I got the audio.

I devoured this novel in less than a day. I just couldn't put it down. Murder mysteries aren't my usual genre of choice but this one has a twist - it's hilarious, more chick lit than anything really. Sort of The Shopaholic series meets Castle. I thoroughly enjoyed it, particularly Franki's crazy Sicilian family (I mean, Nonna was just wonderful!) and Glenda... well, what can I say about her? She's probably the coolest, craziest, quirky character I've ever read about. The author had me guessing almost all the way to the end (actually, I admit that I did figure out who the killer was before it was actually revealed!) and the way she tied things (no pun intended) in the finale was perfect. If I had to say anything negative about the book, it would only be (and this is my former editor self coming out here) that the author has a tendency to over describe things. But I can look past that for a wonderfully-told story. I'm definitely a fan and I'd love to read anything else Traci Andrighetti writes in the future.

The words Gemma Halliday presents were what drew me to this book because I love The High Heel Mystery series. I loved this book too. Its like Stephanie Plum and Sophie Metropolis all rolled into one. I absolutely adore books like this that are full of fun and funny. You will laugh out loud reading this, which at times can be embarrassing, but hey! Everyone needs a good laugh and when you get one from a book, that's twice as nice. Oh and toss in a wacky grandma! Move of Grandma Mazur, that's all I can say. The guys Franki's Nonna sets her up with really are a hoot. Then there's her landlady, Glenda!  As George Takei would say, Oh MY! Some of the personal life issues could send the mystery to the back burner, but that didn't happen here. Traci blends a crazy life and the crime solving perfectly. And in the case Jessica Evans, there are so many people that could have done it. When you finally find out who it actually was, I guarantee that you will be surprised. The Franki Amato series, is definitely going to be one to keep up with. The crazy cast of characters and writing style of Ms Andrighetti will make this a series to gobble up.

This is 4 star book there is no doubt about it. Franki, and her boss Veronica with their business Private Chicks Inc. Extremely A joy to read, will leave you tripping over your own giggles. Traci, brings you the first in this series. A delightful laugh out loud story.

I really enjoyed this book. It was funny and fresh. It was a bit like the Stephanie Plum books, with the main character getting into some crazy situations. However, it was new and fresh and different. I signed up for e-mail updates on the next book!
