Englishman Lake Benson loaned his life savings to his dippy sister so that she could buy a shop. It was a big mistake. His sister has been steadily flushing his money down the drain – and now he wants it back. Years in the special forces taught Lake that if you want a job done, do it yourself. So he steps in to make the shop profitable, sell it and get his money back. The only problem is, the business is an underwear shop. And all Lake knows about underwear can be summed up in how fast he can unsnap a bra. To make matters worse, the tiny highland town already has a lingerie shop. A successful one, run by an ex-lingerie model. A very gorgeous ex-lingerie model, who’s distracting him from his mission more than he’d like to admit. If Lake wants to get his savings back, and get out of Scotland, he only has one option – wipe out the competition.

Kirsty Campbell has spent years rebuilding her life after she woke up in hospital in Spain to find her body scarred, and her ex-fiance had run off with all her money. The last thing she needs is a cocky, English soldier-boy trying to ruin all she has left. Her home town is only too happy to help her fight the latest English invasion, although Lake is beginning to sway them with his sex appeal and cut price knickers. With the help of her mother, and the retired ladies of Knit or Die, Kirsty sets about making sure that her shop is the last one standing in Invertary.

It’s Scotland versus England as you’ve never seen it before. It’s lingerie war.

About the Author

I'm a Scot, living in New Zealand and married to a Dutch man. I write contemporary romance with a humorous bent. My Invertary series is set in a fictional Scottish town deep in the Highlands, and my London series is about friends who are from that city. If I wasn't a writer, I'd like to be Buffy the Vampire Slayer, or Indiana Jones. Unfortunately, both these roles have already been filled. Which may be a good thing as I have no fighting skills, wouldn't know a precious relic if it hit me in the face and have an aversion to blood. When I'm not living in my head, I'm a mother to two kids, three pet sheep, one dog, three cats and an escape artist chicken. If you'd like to sign up for my newsletter, which happens sporadically - usually when books are being released - then you'll find a form on my website. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy my books!

This book is funny and just a great read. The characters are so defined you just can't wait for the next. There is sex but it is tastefull. It is a full length novel and can stand alone. One of the best books I've read.

It's been awhile since I have truly enjoyed a free read and this book did not disappoint. This book is perfect!! It was so well written that I felt like I was a part of the little Scottish town. Every character is absolutely wonderful, they make me wish that I have people in my life just like them. It was also absolutely hilarious and I couldn't put it down. I do wish the sex scenes weren't glossed over or at least the first time Kirsty and Lake got together, I felt that moment was pivotal to their relationship and I wanted to feel that deeper connection, but for me it honestly didn't take anything away from the book. This book was a longer read, around 260 pages on my Nook. Definitely will read more from this author and the next in the series!

What a hoot! I read #2 in the series first, and really glad I came back to read this one. Laughing out loud in the gym while reading this - and not really noticing - was sooo much fun. What a kick in the pants - and a great romance too!

Quirky small town Scottish life with kooky characters. Stretches believability a bit but for all that.

I read this book a while ago, and still love it and sometimes I go back. This book is hilarious. Loved Lake and Kirsty, and was glad that they got together and had nice romance. Betty made the book, she was awesome, and then you had the Knit or Die woman, this town is crazy. Could have done without Rainne, she annoyed me, liked Alistair, but he deserved someone better. The Donaldson twins, again awesome.. Truly enjoyable story.

I picked up this book because it was set in Scotland and sounded fin and interesting. And I'm happy with that decision. I enjoyed this book a lot.

I got this book for free over a year ago and only just got around to reading it. I loved it, I laughed a lot, it was very funny. I liked Lake and Kirsty but that Betty took the cake. There were a few errors but easily overlooked. Not a lot of sex made you use your imagination. I will be reading more from this author ,
