It is the second of the "Duchessess of London" series,but can be read as a stand alone. See "Kathryn,The Kitten". This is the story of Linnette,the Dowager Duchess of Doveshire and James,the new Duke of Doveshire. Their love affair,secrets,sweet sensuality,romance,gossip,betrayal and their finding happiness. Linnette and James have a past that left Linnette with bitterness for the man she once loved,but was forced to marry another. Gossip has it that Linnette is "with child" with her best friend's husband's child. She and James will have to find forgiveness with each other and learn that secrets can destroy them. Their attraction has never ceased.Linnette has taken James as her lover.Together they will weather the storm of feelings and the truth of their long standing love affair,their parent's deception,and gossip. This is a fast paced story with a few twists and turns and a little scandal. I read all four and then Kent's debut novel. All were good reading, entertaining with just the right amount of spice.
