Jack Harris has loved Legs Anderson since they were kids. Now that he has her in his bed, he has no intention of letting her go. Aunt Ada has other ideas, even from the grave.
GETTING BETWEEN JACK...
Orphaned at a young age, Legs Anderson owes her Aunt Ada everything. The stoic old lady raised her, and Ada's warnings about men-and the Harris boys in particular-have stuck, even after her death. Of course, that could be because Ada stuck around, too.
...AND HIS LEGS
Patience is not one of Jack Harris' virtues, and he's waited too long to start a life with the woman he's loved since childhood instead of them just knocking boots. Now Ada is interfering from beyond the grave, haunting the old Victorian house she bequeathed to her niece and reinforcing Legs's fears of commitment. But Jack won't give up. No matter what trouble may follow, the house will be renovated, Ada will learn to let go, Legs will put her money where her mouth is... then Jack'll put his lips everywhere else.

Clever and well written Favorite Quotes: “When their eyes finally met, you could almost see the smoke curl above their heads. The air around Jack and Legs crackled like pressurized, high intensity erotic fuel that could singe the hair on your arms at three paces. Old Man Benson had a five-dollar bet with Clifford Jones that one day they’d detonate, rip each other’s clothes off, and make love like mad across a café table.” “Who cares about fart smells? I can live with that. I have four brothers.” “The preschool teachers at Let’s Explore eyed his denim-wrapped butt like hot buttered biscuits when he passed by.” My Review: This story was perfection. It was just right in every way possible. The characters were interesting, flawed just enough, yet smart and funny. The plot was unique, entertaining, and clever. The writing was witty, well-paced, and insightful. And the sensual scenes sizzled and snapped. But most of all, I like that they bested a recalcitrant ghost.
Not the kind of threesome anyone would want! (I apologize for the wonky formatting, the site is being difficult the past few months!) 3.5 stars “Lip Service” by Adele Downs is a sexy contemporary romance with paranormal elements that centers around Linda “Legs” Anderson and her complicated relationship with Jack Harris. Despite a sizzling sexual connection, they can’t seem to deepen the relationship into anything more permanent, not only because of Legs’ fear of commitment but also because of her Aunt Ada’s opposition…that is continuing from beyond the grave. Jack is going to have to use all of his considerable inventiveness to win the woman he has been in love with for most of his life, but even that may not be enough, because who can fight a determined ghost? This is a quick read that has a great sense of small town life, some nice twists, lots of heat, and poignant moments. The characters frustrated me a bit because they continue to vacillate between following up on what they theoretically felt from the very beginning of their relationship and complying with other people’s wishes so I wasn’t convinced of their dedication to each other at first, and they don’t always behave in a manner that would be logical to me, but there are definitely spicy scenes to remind one that these two are on the same page when it comes to their intimate encounters (like bringing new meaning to idea of stenciling on one’s walls). If you’re looking for a fast sexy read with an unusual antagonist throwing obstacles in the path of two lovers, this is the story for you. A copy of this title was provided to me for review.
I was gifted an ARC by the author for an honest review…. This was such a wonderful love story that survived through time. Jack and Legs have been in love since they were quite young, but were kept apart because of Legs' aunt. Lip Service was very entertaining throughout with a wonderful cast of characters. Jack and Legs have a wonderful chemistry and know how to steam up a room....true love will them!!! This was an awesome love story and I highly recommend you read.
Ada Anderson takes her job as a guardian aunt seriously. Even after death. While raising orphaned Linda Anderson, nicknamed “Legs”, Ada successfully thwarted a blooming liaison between her niece and local boy Jack Harris, driven by a closely guarded personal secret. Ada’s victory was short-lived. After Legs inherits her dead aunt’s house and reconnects with Jack, they set out to rekindle their aborted relationship while renovating what had been Ada’s master bedroom. As a departed soul, Ada does everything in her power to keep the lovebirds apart. Forever. How can the lovers break free of her intrusive haunting? In LIP SERVICE, Adele Downs spins a delightful twisting tale of found love after great loss bookended by chatty commentary through the eyes of an observant local diner owner. *I received this copy from the author and was not paid for my opinion*
