It had me hooked from page one. Great mystery and also had some laughs. Can't wait to read the next book.

I liked it. Some chapters needed more filler. Felt like I missed a few pages. For example, after the confrontation with the killer she's suddenly home recouperating. Enjoyed the ending with the ghost and the blowup doll.

I did enjoy this book; I almost quit reading it first as it took a bit to get intersting. Glad I finished it! as it turned out to be very good. There were several pages missing after the joke on the brother, very annoying, it picked back up so that at least I got most of the ending. GJRA

Fast pace whodunit. Gianna can see ghost. Most hang around till she can help with unfinished business then pass to the other side through her family's deli freezer. It has some funny moments some, "are you crazy, why would you keep putting yourself in this situation." moments. She is trying to find who killed a clown named 'Cupcake' and framed her sister. Enjoy...yeah your gonna want to finish in one setting.

I fell in love with the main character. The story moves along real well and has many twists and turns. It's pretty clean, but would still get a pg 13. Lots of fun to read, and a bit more evolved than a cosy mystery usually is. Read it you'll like it!

One Garish Ghost & Blueberry Peach Jam by Jennifer Fischetto is the first book in a brand new paranormal/mystery series called Dead by the Numbers. I absolutely loved this book! Gianna moves back home after a break-up to the apartment above her parents' deli. But Gianna isn't just your every day, ordinary sandwich maker - she had a near-death experience in the freezer of the deli as a child, and was resuscitated. This has left her with the ability to see ghosts. The ghosts also use the back wall of the deli freezer as their portal to the next world.  Gianna's sister, Izzie, is going through a rough patch with her husband, Paulie. She is convinced he is cheating on her. When Gianna and Izzie head out for drinks, they run into Gianna's ex-boyfriend, Julian. They leave and head to a different bar, running into Paulie - who is caught in an interesting situation. They decide to drink some vodka on the beach and end up passing out. Izzie is soon the suspect of a murder. Gianna sees the ghost victim (who was caught in the predicament with Paulie) and tries to help figure out what happened to her in order to get Izzie off the hook.  This story was great. I really liked all the characters: Gianna, Izzie, Enzo (their brother), their Ma and Pops. All the secondary characters were entertaining as well, including the ghosts, Billy and Emma. I loved this twist on a mystery story. The paranormal element really took the story up a notch. I can see this being one of my favorite series, and I hope it goes on for a long time. The dialogue is great - Gianna is a spitfire and tends to have a sarcastic mouth that she just can't wrangle in. There were several viable suspects that kept the mystery going until the end. I'm really interested to see where the series goes from here. I loved One Garish Ghost & Blueberry Peach Jam by Jennifer Fischetto, and I'm thoroughly looking forward to my next adventure in South Shore Beach. I received an ebook for review purposes. This did not influence my opinion.

4 STARS There are some funny moments in this story for sure. Lots of characters, I like Gianna Mancini, would not mind seeing some more of her in the future. Disappointed in some of the male figures in the book. I really want to say who and why but that might be too much. The ghosts are fun and likeable. Keeps you guessing who the murder is and why they killed cupcake. Gianna Mancini has moved back home. She has lived with a boyfriend for almost a year in another state. Then they fought and she moved out. Now she is going to work for the family deli and live upstairs in the apartment. While she is moving in she notices a ghost. She can see and talk to them since she was a child. Gianna family are funny. I like them. Her older sister Izzie is having issues with her husband. Enzo her brother is a cop and wants to be a detective. They are close. Her mother collects interesting things. Gianna wants to help the ghost in her apartment murder be solved and she does some interesting things to check out Cupcake's work. Gianna's romance I am not sure what I want her to do about it but I would like to see what happens next with them. One scene I think is funny is almost to the end. I want to join Izzie and Gianna laughing so much they sit on the lawn. I want to read the next book in the series and see what happens next to Gianna. I was given this ebook to read so I could honestly review and be part of One Garish Ghost & Blueberry Peach Jam's blog tour.

This had everything, a ghost or two, a murder mystery, a good looking man and a funny woman. I literally could not put this one down. I can not wait to read the next installment!

An extremely entertaining read! One Garish Ghost and Blueberry Peach Jam was a great mix of mystery, romance and a little paranormal. Gianna, who moves back to her hometown after a breakup, has a paranormal gift. After a local murder hits close to home, she must help find the killer before her sister is accused of the crime. To make matters more complicated her recent ex has moved into the area. Jennifer Fischetto delivered a fantastic debut in her new series. I can't wait to see what Fischetto has in store for Gianna in the second book!
