In this remarkable book, Keri Wyatt Kent shows how to open ourselves to more love and joy by listening—to God, our hearts, and each other. By listening we discover God in our own stories and in other people’s stories. Throughout the book, Kent shares her personal experiences and shows that by reflecting on our own story we can discover the things that bring us joy and the things we love and hold dear. Once we are more aware of the joy and love that are already in our lives, we can notice God. Listening is the central spiritual practice that makes other practices–such as prayer, worship, and study–transformational in our lives.

Most Helpful Customer Reviews
Keri has helped me to see the vital role of the listener in the body of Christ. 'I am not God, but I can act in a Christ-like manner in any number of ways, including by listening to others' pain or to their joys and rejoicing with them (p. 83).' Listening conveys the love of Christ. When Christ's love is given it has the power to transform lives. That is the power of listening.
I first became a fan of Keri's after reading 'God's Whisper in a Mother's Chaos.' Since then, I've followed her work closely. In 'Listen', Keri challenges readers to be disciplined enough to listen to what God has to say, something that's a challenge for me. She writes, 'Listening to your life has a purpose. You listen to it so that you can take who you are and put in into what you do.' Later, she expounds on that thought. 'Sure, you need to know yourself, but not just so you can be self-aware. It's so that you can be more God-aware.' Keri's desire to be more God-aware has touched my own walk with the Lord. Open this book, and it will touch yours too.
