Blu Tracey grew up isolated in the Appalachian Mountains and is the only child in his family without a genetic abnormality that causes blue skin. But when he discovers his mother intentionally had abnormal children for a reality television show, he becomes the target of a killer. If Blu doesn’t expose someone in his own family as a suspect, his siblings will be exploited for their rare, genetic mutation, and worse they could be the next targets in the killer’s pursuit of fame.

Every story asks, "What if...." This imaginative book is a great answer to that question. It begins almost as a piece of historical fiction, then catapults you into the 21st century in a way that leaves the reader almost as stunned as the children in the story. As a mystery, it gives the you enough clues to make you feel like a participant, but not enough to spoil the plot. The writing style is smooth and engaging, with no quirky distractions from the very creative story. One of the lies I tell myself is that I can read "just a little" before work. Thanks for making me late for work! (Also we may have eaten more sandwiches than usual since I didn't quite get around to cooking dinner.)
