A Little Harmless Sex by melissa SCHROEDER

Is it love, or just a little harmless sex?
Max has always been Anna's knight in shining armor. But Max has always seen her as a charming, and very sexy, little sister. Until Max's cold fiance dumps him, Anna unloads another of her many conquests and she invites him over for margaritas and Mexican food. Too much tequila, too much flirting, and too many years of fighting the attraction -- Max loses control and has mind-blowing sex with Anna on her couch. And in her shower. And in her bed. When the sun rises the next morning, both of them must face that their night together is just the first of many.
For Max, he knows he wants Anna forever, but convincing a commitment-phobe like Anna is no easy task. For Anna, she can't believe she has finally slipped beneath Max's steely self-control. He is every woman's dark, wet fantasy come true. But what happens when Max pushes Anna for more than just A Little Harmless Sex?
»WARNING: The following book contains: explicit sex, graphic terms for body parts, torture via silk stockings, a little spanking, and shower and office sex.

About the Author

Born to an Air Force family at an Army hospital, USA TODAY Bestselling author Melissa Schroeder has always been a little bit screwy. She was further warped by her years of watching Monty Python and her strange family. Her love of romance novels developed after accidentally picking up a Linda Howard book. From then on, she was hooked. She read close to 300 novels in one year and decided romance was her true calling instead of the literary short stories and suspense stories she had been writing. After many attempts, she realized that romantic comedy, or at least romance with a comedic edge, was where she was destined to be.

Influences in her writing come from Nora Roberts, Jenny Crusie, Susan Andersen, Amanda Quick, Jayne Anne Krentz, Julia Quinn, Christina Dodd, and Lori Foster. Since her first release in 2004, Melissa has written close to thirty short stories, novellas and novels released with seven different publishers in a variety of genres and time periods. Those releases included a 2005 Eppie Finalist, Two Capa finalists, and an International ebook best seller in June of 2005. Surrender was named top Category Romance by Authors After Dark, and she was named Author of the Year and Most Accessible Author.

Since she was a military brat, she vowed never to marry military. Alas, fate always has her way with mortals. Her husband is an Air Force major, and together they have their own military brats, two girls, and an adopted dog-daughter. They live wherever the military sticks them, which, she is sure, will always involve heat and bugs only seen on the Animal Discovery Channel. In her spare time, she reads, complains about bugs, travels, cooks, reads some more, watches her DVD collections of Arrested Development and Seinfeld, and tries to convince her family that she truly is a delicate genius. She has yet to achieve her last goal.

She has always believed that romance and humor go hand in hand. Love can conquer all and as Mark Twain said, "Against the assault of laughter, nothing can stand." Combining the two, she hopes she gives her readers a thrilling love story, filled with chuckles along the way, and a happily ever after.

I couldn't put the book down! (well my nook since I got the ebook) Great romance and erotica! Just like Ann's bakery in the book its YUMMY! Ann has always wanted Max, Max how is the business tycoon of his family business has always wanted Ann deep down. Cynthia his fiance drops him, he falls for Ann. Ann who has always wanted Max was burned in the past by high school jerks, max saves the day sweeps her off her feet, and plays for keeps putting his business 2nd and his love & Lust for Ann 1st. Make sure you read "A Little Harmless Pleasure" its the 2nd book (although they dont tell you)

This is one of the first ebooks I purchased and I wasn't disappointed. I like the characters and how they interacted; they were believable and easy to relate to. The sexy scenes were well written and I was surprised how much I enjoyed them. This is a good lazy day read and romance!

The story was great. It wasn't too over-the-top where you think ok that will never happen. I enjoyed how they teased each other as to who's in charge in the "relationship" they were having. If you want sex, sex, and more sex then this is the book for you.

I normally don't buy books like this; however, it caught my attention when I read the "sample" on my nook. The sex scenes were described so passionately and yet there was an ok story line in the midst of the steaminess going on. I'm looking forward to reading the next one.

Best friends that become lovers? Harmless flirting leading to a steamy kiss on the couch? And then later, some hot bedroom action? Again ... I say - WHOA! This book had it all - and I didn't stop reading it from the moment I read the first page, until the last. A record for me as I read it in less that 24 hours!

Okay, I don't normally write reviews but had to for this one. First off, I am not ashamed to say that I enjoy erotic fiction and I love romance novels. This does not fall into either category for me. Sure, the author tries but the writing is so unimaginative. I can't even begin to count the number of times the author used the phrase "his balls tightened." Really? You can't come up for another way to describe what is going on? Never once was I turned on by the sex scenes. Oh, there is a lot of sex going on in this book but the author is terrible at their descriptions. Very, very dull. If you are used to just romance novels, this book seems a little shocking because of the number of sex scenes. But to those of us who have read erotic fiction, this book seems pitiful. Second, the character development falls very short. In essence, there was no development. The best part of the whole book was near the end when the conflict came in and the main couple's relationship was in trouble. But the resolution and the ending came so quickly together (no pun intended), that I was left feeling like 'why did I even bother.' This book just isn't worth it, which is probably why it's so cheap as an ebook. If you're looking for something with a little more bite, try Anne Rice's (under a different pen name) Sleeping Beauty trilogy. Or "Exit to Eden." If you want a great romance novel with an actual plot and believable characters, anything by Nora Roberts is a sure bet.

Well, this book definitely caught my interest with all the sexual content in the beginning of the book. Be prepared to blush a bit at the language--while not vulgar, it is explicit. It is a great summer beach read. The storyline would have been much better if more character traits and history of the characters and setting were explained in detail throughout more throughout the novel. It scraped over the character development; however, delved right into the sexual scenes. I did purchase the sequel, A Little Harmless Pleasure. I also looked into the author's other works, and ordered one that sounded like it had a bit of mystery to it. However, I won't continue to purchase titles if the character and plot development continues to be lacking.

First of all, if you are not into erotica books, then don't read it. If you like erotica and really steamy and explicit writing then this is the book for you. I've read book reviews on here, and I am not impressed when people try to act like they do not like reading about sex. And if you don't, then you need to completely move on to your Harloquin Romance novels that to me remind me of the channel Cinemax. Back to the book, the characters were believable, the sex scenes were hot and very steamy. I loved it!!

The first in a fantastic series by Melissa Schroeder I’ve enjoyed this story many times but just listened to it on audio and was thrilled. Max is a young businessman forced into taking over the family business way too early after his workaholic fathers heart attack. He is trying to do everything right which is how he ends up engaged to Cynthia a local deb who is just so wrong for him. When Cynthia dumps him he finds himself in the arms of his best friend and total opposite Anna. How can a love so right be so wrong? This is a smoking hot friends to lovers that makes even the sultry summer air cool in comparison. I really enjoyed the audio as the narrator didn’t try to fake a southern accent.
