Candy and Pretty Boy have quite a history with each other. They both care about the other but Candy doesn't want to need or trust anyone and Pretty Boy just keeps hoping she'll come around. He tries to move on when it seems she doesn't want him but when she comes to him for help (finally!) he's got her back. He goes with her to her sister's wedding but starts to finds out about the lie upon lie upon lie she's told which has been going on for years and continues to snowball. When he meet her family he starts to understand the reason she's built the wall she has. But he has some secrets of his own and oh wait, Candy isn't the only one in her family that has told a few lies! Loved this book! I had to keep turning pages to find out how this was going to play out. So many laughs in this book! I voluntarily read an advanced e=copy of this book for an honest review.

Terrific second book in the Bouquet Catchers series. I couldn't put it down! Jumping back and forth in time to tell the story can be a bit distracting, at first, but as you get into the story it begins to make perfect sense. The story of Candy Raines and her very correct, yet very dysfunctional family unfolds slowly and we see its past and present impact on her life and her relationships. My heart went out to Ren as he tries to handle his own secrets, his love for Candy and the constant roller coaster of her pulling him close then pushing him away. Great series! I'm anxious to read the next book coming out later this year.

Very entertaining book! The characters of Candi & Ren (Pretty Boy) were well developed. They each had issues in their background that shaped their lives and caused trials and tribulations for them! I have to admit I understood why one character was pushing the other away constantly, but wish they hadn't. The other surrounding characters brought more to the story and caused their own little tidal waves in the story. Lizzie Shane is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. I will say that I wish that each chapter didn't start with a flashback. I know why authors do this, but it is a pet peeve of mine! Even with that pet peeve this was a well crafted book! “I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review.”

Little White Lies by Lizzie Shane......This was a great entertaining story that kept me flipping pages. I enjoyed both characters, Candy and Ren it was fun to watch their stories be told. These two have had terrible past, will they be able to work through it, you will have to read and find out. Lizzie Shane is an amazing storyteller, I know it will always be a great read. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Candy Raines moved to California 15 years ago to get away from her political family. She is a very successful member of Elite Protection. She manages to keep her two lives separate for a all of these years, especially with her "husband" that her family has heard about, but never met. Ren "Pretty Boy" Xiao has been in love with Candy pretty much as long as he's known her. They've danced around each other and tried doing the friends with benefits thing many times. Now he's moved on and trying to move forward with his life. Until her lie catches up to her and she's made to present her "husband" at her sister's high society wedding. This was a very enjoyable read and I loved their story.

Little White Lies is a standalone however it is book two in the Bouquet Catchers series. I did read book one, and enjoyed it, but book two was fantastic. I think the best part for me was the characters themselves. Ms. Shane created two characters that have pasts that will break your heart, make you think of someone in your own family that you’d like to disown, and get you to think about how you view your own relationships. Candy Raines is the tech specialist for Elite Protection – five foot nuthin’ of raw power, capable of taking down even a 6 foot plus built male…which she does. His name is Ren Xiao and she manages to best him at their first meeting, which also happens to be his interview for a bodyguard position at Elite. Ren gets the job, once he gets over his surprise, but Candy nicknames him “Pretty Boy”. Much to his consternation, the name sticks and everyone at Elite Protection calls him that. He does take it all in stride, though. And he IS gorgeous, as Ms. Shane writes him. The story has much depth and I won’t even begin to describe it. I will say that when I read this story, it was such a change in what I had been reading and I truly engaged and enjoyed. Both Candy and Ren have family issues to deal with, Candy more so than Ren. And Ren is always there for Candy; it just takes her a little while to figure that out. I recommend this book. I know you will love these two. And Wicket. Gawd, you’ll love Ren’s dog!

This was an ok read. I hated how it keep going back and forth between present day and the past. It was just too much for me. Both Candy and Ren aka "Pretty Boy" both have some serious family issues but honestly why Candy would want to work hers out is beyond me. Her family simply are not good people. Ren is hoping to finally convince Candy to take a chance on him so posing as her husband in front of her family isn't hard to do. After meeting them and discovering the secrets they keep, he can almost understand why she wants to stay detached from everyone. Yet he's determined to show her it doesn't have to be that way.
