Overview

Little White Lies by R.C. Matthews

When attorney Madalyn Russell dumps her fiancé at the altar, she temporarily escapes the scrutiny of her friends and family on her honeymoon cruise. Too bad she forgot she is assigned to dine at the “newlywed” table on the fully booked cruise. Goodbye exquisite cuisine, hello standard buffet fare. Nothing will tempt her to enter that lion’s den. Or so she thinks.

When the board of directors orders devilishly handsome Royce Spencer to seek rest alone on a cruise, he sets his sights on Madalyn and offers a deliciously indecent proposal to her dining room dilemma. He’ll pose as her husband in exchange for companionship during the cruise. Royce is a gifted liar with a great sense of humor that has everyone at the newlywed table laughing and no one suspecting the truth.

Is the opportunity to enjoy all the ship has to offer worth the little white lies they'll have to tell? What is it about Royce that makes Madalyn want to engage in a fling at the age of thirty for the first time in her life and toss her tightly held beliefs overboard? The whirlwind love affair catches them both by surprise. Is it possible that in the midst of all the little white lies, they will each discover their soul mate? And when Royce is accused of white-collar crime with Madalyn as his key witness, will Madalyn finally learn that life is not always as black and white as it seems?

The groom is left standing at the altar by the bride? Now there’s a twist to romance! That is exactly what Madalyn did, followed by taking the honeymoon cruise alone, okay, alone for a few hours. Enter Royce, handsome, charming, humorous and cruising alone himself. After finding out as much as possible about Madalyn, the dashing Royce remains very vague about himself. Is he hiding something? Trying not to show off about his position at his company? Trying to hide some underhanded business dealings? All Madalyn knows is that Royce has saved her from a very awkward situation onboard while turning her world and her heart upside down and inside out. Royce is captivated by this feisty and independent woman and they seem to have so much in common, yet what starts out as two people, enjoying each other while having a brief and crazy fling seems to be turning into something so much more. Was there something in the sea air or just coincidence that two souls adrift in the world could find each other? A simple game of” let’s pretend we’re married” is nothing compared to a storm of possible Titanic proportions that is brewing in Royce’s world. Madalyn may be the only one with ability to toss him a stay out of jail card when brothers get caught up in a war of jealousy and power. Little White Lies by R. C. Matthews is one part sweet, one part humorous, one part mystery and completely entertaining while heating up the pages with romantic tension that sizzles and sparks. Madalyn is a delight, often serious, with a streak of hidden wild child trying to get out while Royce is a smooth talker with a silver tongue and a huge heart. From page one, R. C. Matthews had me smiling, smirking and totally lost in the world of two terrific characters caught between their own desires and the games they were playing until things got surprisingly serious. Great characters, some a little quirky, some in need of attitude adjustments and some you wish you actually knew. A fun read with so many strings to pull together just right to make an ending that had had me letting out a sigh while grinning from ear to ear, while remembering what my mother said about telling Little White Lies!

I loved this book. It was very light hearted. Hard to believe that this is authors first one. The characters went well together. I laughed a lot and thought the cruise was described perfect. I have never been but makes me want to go. I recommend this book for a break from dark romance.

Given To Me For An Honest Review Little White Lies (Crimson Romance) by R.C. Matthews is a must read and then re-read again.  This book will grab you from page one, hold you on the edge of your seat and before you know it you'll watch the pages turn and turn and turn some more until you're at the end.  Madelyn leaves her groom at the altar but goes on the honeymoon anyway.  She meets Royce and they decided to be the newlyweds while on the cruise.  The week they spend is filled with fun, laughter and lots of love.  Before you know it, they are back home.  Madelyn  goes back to her life.  Royce back to his at least that's what Madelyn thinks.  Will they ever see each other again?  Were they really in love?  Does Madelyn ever have a chance at true love and happiness?  Read the book.  This book is so romantic, fun and even a bit sad  too.  I loved it!!  I gave this book 5 stars but it deserves more than that. I highly recommend this book to everyone.  It will make a great  addition to your bookshelf.  I look for more by R.C. Matthews.

A fun read where most of the action is on a Carribbean Cruise ship, Little White Lies was an engaging and quick read. The setting does not overwhelm the budding relationship, and while several secondary characters wander through the story without solid and obvious intention, their impact does not diminish the overall enjoyment.  Royce is sexy and dashing, a touch of the devil-may-care bad boy who has a heart.  Madalyn is reeling from a broken engagement, and has always lived her life by the rules.  Royce is just what she needed to ‘loosen up’ and she is the perfect match to show him that sometimes a chance with one woman is the right move.  While there are some choppy insets of dialogue that feels much younger than the characters, and a few questions were never really answered, but these actually turned into fairly minor issues that were less memorable when the read was finished.  Sexy and steamy with insets of humor, this is a wonderful ‘vacation themed’ romance with plenty to enjoy.  I received an eBook copy of the title from the tour company for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

What a great story. I have been on a few cruises and this book captures the essence and spirit of one perfectly. This book has it all, an interesting plot, beginning, middle and end. There is romance, a little bit of mystery and betrayal Can't wait to read Date Night which is based on a few characters in the book
