Overview

Live: Era '87-'93

Guns N' Roses' unflinchingly rebellious music addressed life on the streets, and among the band's most incendiary material were songs about the school of hard knocks ("Welcome to the Jungle"), drugs ("Mr. Brownstone"), and mortality ("Dust n' Bones"). Much of GNR's oeuvre may have been fueled by the snarling guitars of Slash and Izzy Stradlin (and later Gilby Clarke), but later songs were impressive epics swept up in passion, including the larger than life "November Rain." Beneath the tattoos and snarls, Guns N' Roses also had a more sensitive side that can be heard on the bittersweet "Yesterdays" and this package's only previously unreleased number, the transformation of Black Sabbath's "It's Alright" into a piano-driven solo piece sung and played by Axl Rose.

This CD is excellent, honestly who can't love it? If this is the only Guns N' Roses CD that you'll ever own, its okay because it has just about every song that GNR has become famous for. Especially the song, "Estranged" sounds great on this CD, it just touches the right part of your heart, it sounds equally as good on "Use Your Illusion 2".

The Live Era '87-'93 is really a great cd! There is a song for every mood from November Rain to Mr. Brownstone. One part about this cd I really enjoyed is that Axl doesn't just sing, he explains about some of the songs. This has most of the better GNR songs on it. Such as: Welcome to the Jungle, Patience, Sweet Child O' Mine, etc. If you liked Appetite for Destruction you'll love Live Era.

This a collection for Guns N Roses fans that both love them and just like them. It's a must have in ANY CD collection. This double disc collection perfectly exemplifies what Guns N Roses were in the late '80s to mid 90's - they were young, fun, wild, sometimes a little crude - but always cutting edge & innovative. Axl Roses proves in these live sets that he was indeed an excellent singer. I would highly recommend it!

This is the first GNR cd i've ever bought and i only knew the most popular songs before i bought it like November Rain, Welcome to the Jungle or Pardise city. But now, i know almost everything there is to know about them and it's all thanks to this CD it was a great way to say good bye to a band that changed Rock. Hopefully Axl will come out someday and start up again, that would be a great day if he did.
