This album isn't quite as party-heavy and filled with sure-fire concert anthems like his previous albums (no "BBQ Stain" or "Cowboy in Me" here), but it's clear the best album and best music Tim McGraw's put together. I'm not exactly a huge fan, but that's saying a lot. Like Thom said, he's compiled a group of songs that are well written - and in some cases, better performed - and are of pretty ambitious material. It's almost all introspective and reflective, and the emotion in his voice has never been bolder. And most any trace of "pop" is gone from McGraw's music. The mid-90's country he made great is back, mixed with even better southern rock and blues than he's used before. And perhaps the best part is his band, which - as good as they are - does not overperform or attempt to play every performer on every song. They're understated performance allows McGraw to sound brilliant and bring out the best of the songs. If you're looking for a party album, buy an older Tim McGraw CD. But if you're looking for a truly great contemporary country album, this is the year's best to date.

I love the title song "Live Like You Were Dying", however this is almost the answer to the joke everyone makes about country music, lost my dog, lost my wife, lost my house. I love Tim McGraw and have every one of his CD's but if you think this is his best you can't have the rest.

LOVE this album! I think this is his best album yet. His voice sounds soooo honest on it. I LOVE Kill Myself, and no, it's not about him actually killing himself. I think his voice is the best on that one!! I also love Just To Be Your Tear, Walk Like A Man and of course How Bad Do Ya Want It (rockin' song!). Those are just my favorites, but I love them all. I'm sure there will be more #1s to come. Yes, there are a couple of funny songs, but I think that's great to lighten the album because there are a lot of heavy songs. I've had it since midnight on the day it was released and it hasn't left my CD player yet!!

I believe this is Tim's best album to date. Some serious songs, some lighthearted songs, it's a well rounded cd. Tim's voice just keeps getting stronger and better. The Dancehall Doctors sound amazing. I love hearing the band back up Tim. It's definitely a must have cd, I would recommend it to anyone.

I think Tim and the Dance Hall Doctors have out done themselves with their new album "Live Like You Were Dying"! Every song is quality, filled with strong messages, emotional tugs of the heart, or just plain fun. Tim's vocals are the best he has ever been, putting range and emotion into every note. The man just keeps getting better and better, and always keeps coming up with new and interesting music and deliveries. He proves over and over again why he is one of Country's top male stars, and why he is one of Music's top Superstars. A must buy for all music fans, there is something on this album for all Tim's fans to enjoy.

This is my first ever Country CD. I was attracted to this CD by its title track. I've heard it several times on the radio and had to know who sang it and when I found out, I went after the whole CD. Tim did a really great job making this CD. Most times a CD has one or two songs that are good as well as the title track. But this is the opposite and it seems that there are only one or two songs that aren't great. He has real talent. I think I'm hooked on Country now.

Actually-(Deb an Avid Fan of Tim's) I have heard ALL of Tim McGraws's CDs and I think "Live Like You Were Dying" is Tim's best to date. His vocals are stronger than ever, and the emotion in those vocals are so amazing. Each song has a strong message from bonded friendships, to broken relationships, to making changes in one's life to be a better person, to just plain fun. Again Tim proves that he can take any song and make it a hit. Tim just keeps growing and changing as an artisit and keeps giving his fans something different, fresh, and top notch with every new release. Tim fans keep coming back for more to see what he has up his sleeve and he never disappoints. "Live Like You Were Dying" is a must needed CD to add to any collection.
