Born in Ontario in 1973, Jennifer Van Massenhoven has been writing since she was 15. Raised alternately by her mother and her father and stepmother, she grew up with a variety of experiences that led to a deep sense of compassion and empathy. While not having to live gluten-free herself, she felt her mother's difficulties in finding safe foods. Inspired by the trial-and-error techniques for finding safe foods in restaurants, Jennifer decided to compile and share the information found with as many of the hundreds of thousands of gluten-restricted people as possible. With many gluten-free cookbooks available and none about restaurants, she hopes this unique guide will be helpful.
