About the Author

Clark's love for a variety of art forms has influenced and driven him to write several books which offer something for everyone. Enjoy zombie tales sprinkled with comedy, murder mysteries, vampires and witches, or futuristic yarns that make you question reality as you know it.

Table of Contents

‘Living Legacy: Among the Dead’ is the first complete book I wrote. Though it is a very quick read, it was written for the sake of the love story which I have woven into the apocalyptic situation.

Alicia Gaden is a biology major at UCLA; she has her goals lined up and her future planned. Jace Booth is pretty much the same type of person as Alicia, with the exception being that he majors in chemistry. The pair meet up when everyone starts changing; people become violent, and their skin begins to pale and rot. For some reason, the two of them seem to have avoided drinking the water, allowing them to survive the strange phenomenon taking place, but together they pursue knowledge regarding why this is happening. As it turns out, there are no two better for the job.

The book is told from Alicia’s perspective, I wanted to convey the zombie outbreak from the female point of view.

Alicia is witnessing the changes in others entirely on her own. She wants to figure out what is happening and why it doesn’t seem to be happening to her. She meets Jace during a trip to the UCLA student library, which turns out to be a relief because he seems unaffected as well.

Unbeknownst to the two of them, the problem is in the LA water supply. All-Purpose Plastics has been developing the ‘plastic of the future’: Soligel. Unfortunately, they push it through for federal approval, and an unaware maintenance man ends up disposing of a chemical spill improperly. He, too, is affected, but corporate executives take matters into their own hands and shut him up for good. It is only through their own tests and dangerous missions that Alicia and Jace are able to figure out that the problem is in the water. Once that is pinpointed, they must come up with a way to solve the outbreak before it is too late.

I wanted the main characters to be highly intelligent, but I also wanted them to be as courageous as possible. Let’s face it, and I am sad to say, most college students today would panic and buckle if they found themselves in this situation. If these two are going to survive, and if any love is going to grow between them, it was essential for them to be strong and determined, and to have a mutually beneficial skill set if they wanted to get the job done. These are the main characteristics that were the foundation for Jace Booth and Alicia Gaden.

I added the tidbit regarding Alicia possibly becoming pregnant for a couple of different reasons. First, it would solidify their relationship and drive them on to continue the fight at hand at any cost. I wanted the relationship between the two of them to be held together by more than sex; my intent with these two was a lifelong commitment, even if there was the possibility that life could end at any second. Second, a pregnancy would be representative of life finding a way; this gives the reader a renewed sense of hope, both for the lives of the main characters, and for their success in completing their mission against the zombies and the tainted water.

I also wanted them to be able to conduct their research in a setting that provided them with some level of peace and comfort. This is where the house comes in. It was owned by a zombie victim named Belinda Smythe, who is caught off guard by the undead monsters. Her car is left there, and has run itself out of gasoline. Finding this location was essential to their success; I mean, let’s be real: If a couple of college kids are going to save the day and fall in love while they’re at it, having a comfortable base of operations is essential.

Without giving away the ending, I would just like to say that Alicia and Jace are very crafty, and they have more than enough reasons to accomplish their goal to defeat the zombies and fix the issue successfully.

Living Legacy Among the Dead was a lot better than I could have expected. I thought that it was pretty much going to be like every single zombie story ever made. It was similar enough to them that it didn't feel like it was taking place in a completely different genre, which I definitely though was a good thing. However, it also did feel different from a lot of the other zombie stories that I have read. The writer has a really distinctive style, which helped make the story a lot easier to read and more fun to read. The main characters were friendly and likable. I really liked Living Legacy: Among the Dead. This is the sort of book that I would recommend to all zombie lovers.

Alicia started noticing the changes of the people around her. But she didn't think anything of it, at first. Then, it seemed like everyone had shorter fuses than normal and were getting angrier with each passing second. Alicia did not know what to think of it. Until the unthinkable happened. People started feeding off of each other. It was horrifying and it was bizarre. By chance, Alicia met Jace at the library and he seemed thankfully normal. Alicia and Jace compared stories and decided to join forces to try to find a solution. They were mankind's only salvation from the zombie apocalypse.

This unique and compelling storyline grabbed my attention from the first and made it impossible to stop reading all the way through to the end. The story begins with a maintenance worker at a plastic factory cleaning up a spill and then becoming infected. Clark wrote the story of the maintenance worker in such a fashion that I felt real revulsion for the way he acted and his blind faith in his employer. The novel then continued and became a story about love and hope as well as zombies. I loved this novel and am anxious to read more from R.W.K. Clark.

I like that this story sticks to the basics in many different ways. I really felt like I was reading about zombies, and not about a bunch of completely different creatures that are called zombies and don't really act like them. Alicia and Jace are not zombies. They are in love, but it isn't a zombie romance. That is not something that i need to see.

Everyone is acting like they are cold. Wearing heavy coats and sweaters in September. Alicia doesn't think everyone came down with the flu all at once. She has suspicions that there is something wrong with the water. Everyone was also becoming more and more violent with raging tempers. Then they started feasting on human flesh. Alicia had a random meeting in the library with Jace and together they decided to find a cure.

All-Purpose Plastics is a dishonest company. It causes the zombie apocalypse by contaminating the drinking water and the bigwigs at All-Purpose Plastics don't care. The water is putrid it is horrifying, yet people keep drinking it. All because of a spill at the plant. That is until Alicia and Jace begin looking into the solution and before long, they have a love affair. I found this to be a great novel, and I fully recommend it.

Alicia is a biology major. She has noticed that everyone has gotten violent. She believes that the water is the problem. She noticed how everyone around her has gotten very violent., and also noticed that they keep drinking the water. The water that has a smell of death and looks worse. Alicia begins to add two and two together to realize that the water is the culprit, and its changing people in to zombies. Jace is a chemistry student and he meets Alicia, and they decide to go on a journey to find how to fix the water and find a solution, without realizing how much Alicia will come to mean to him. The longer she and Jace work to find the cure, the stronger the passion between them grows.

Alicia is a biology major and she is studying hard and dedicating her life to her studies. When the water started to get a bad smell to it, Alicia refused to drink it. She could not get past the smell. Although most of the people around her did not seem to have a problem with it. Even her roommate was busily gulping down the water as fast as she could. Then everyone around her started changing. They started to become increasingly violent with dead eyes. Then they started feasting on each other. Alicia teamed up with Jace after a chance meeting in the library and together they will clean up the water.

A burgeoning romance and a zombie apocalypse, what more could you want in a book? The story follows two hardworking college students who find themselves in the midst of a zombie outbreak. They must learn to work together to survive and discover that they share a certain chemistry. This novel has something for everyone, action and romance! I would definitely recommend this book!

Alicia and Jace are strangers and would have never met each other if it wasn't for the zombies. Both Alicia and Jace begin a mission to clean up the water and save mankind. Neither one of them planned for the passion that would explode between them.

Alicia and Jace are determined to clean up the drinking water and stop the zombie infection. They also fall in love with each other. I found Alicia's and Jace's relationship to be very touching and I started rooting for them to succeed. If you have been looking for something entertaining to read that will keep your attention, this is the novel for you.

Every scene and every character, I could clearly see in my mind. I started reading this novel, and I could not stop. I normally don't like to read novels in one sitting, but this one was so suspenseful that I had no choice to do otherwise. I would definitely recommend this book.
