As I read this book, I couldn't help but think about my nephews when they were younger. This could have been written by one of them. The book will leave you laughing, nodding in agreement, or shaking your head in disbelief at how true it is. I want to add one reason people have kids, one that my brothers and sisters always thought was the real reason: to have slaves--someone to wash the dishes, take out the trash, set the table, take care of the youngest... you name it. I was glad at the end that there was at least ONE redeeming quality to being an adult. I've heard a saying: "Smile before you go to bed. It will make you sleep better." Reading this book will do the same thing. It will make you laugh so much that you release all those adult stresses, relaxing you.
Isaac decided he needed to help out his peers and so he wrote this book. Isaac is certain they will benefit from his keen observations about grownups. With a little help from his younger brother Aaron, they decide it's time children knew the truth. Witty and sweet, you'll want to share this book with every child you know. I'm sure you'll remember many of these issues from your own childhood. Ms Nicoll has a wonderful gem on her hands here. What a series of books this will make. If you need a look back to when you were a child, and a good chuckle, this book will do it. I found no issues. I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 because I SO remember these from my childhood. ~Copy of book provided by author in exchange for a fair review~
This book was a fantastic laugh to read as an adult. As soon as I was done, my 9-year-old son devoured it and loved it too. The humor the author possesses about herself as an adult, being seen through a child's eyes is uproarious.
Great book. Very funny and witty. My daughter and I both read it and thought the content was realistic and totally relatable! Highly recommend this for the whole family.
