Overview

Lock & Key by Cat Porter, Lucy Rivers, Vikas Adam

I suppose some of us have to get really dirty before we can become truly clean. I was allegedly South Dakota's most famous Old Lady. Sixteen years ago I had survived my Old Man's murder. Never again. Never again will I surrender my heart. Never again will I sacrifice to the Club. But that all changed in one night. I came home and crashed into him, and my past and present blew up in my face. Both of us lonely, running on empty, and unwilling to admit it. Until now. Now I feel things I'd forgotten about, want things I'd cut out of my insides. Love not only stings when you lose it, when it's ripped away. When it first sinks its teeth into you, it can cut just as raw and sting just as deep. I'd forgotten that. Who holds the keys to betrayal? To suspicion? To trust? To brotherhood? To family? To redemption and a bleeding heart? Right now, I just might.

Wow. I love a good kinda gritty but not too gritty biker book but I'm not usually a fan of MC books. They're just too gritty for me but I loved this one. It was everything I dislike in a MC story but written in a way that made me love it. I truly enjoyed this author and look forward to reading more by her.

I love MC Romance books, and have read tons of them, so it is difficult to find something new and different that still has the feel of a good MC Romance. Lock & Key was a nice surprise. I loved this story. It captured my attention from the first page, and it never disappointed. I highly recommend it. Great character development and great story. My only criticism is the cover. Not very inviting. But get past it, because this book is worth it.

In Lock & Key, Grace has been running for 15 years from a tragedy that took place and took away her hopes and dreams.  She and Lock meet and have a one night stand.  When Grace returns to the One Eyed Jacks asking for help for her dying sister, she discovers that Lock is a member.  Lock and Grace try to forge a relationship.  Jump, the Prez, has other ideas and forces Grace to do and be around some pretty uncomfortable things so that he can keep an eye on her and also find out information to protect the club.  I liked the past and present scenarios because they gave a glimpse at why Grace was the way she was.  Lock finally realizes that they have forced Grace to do too much for the club and has a hard time getting her to acknowledge him.  There were some twists in the plot that kept you guessing, mainly what what Viz had on her.   Overall a good read and a decent MC book.  Liked the epilogue a lot.

What a pleasant surprise!  This book had everything you could want in a get-away book.  The characters were strong, the story engrossing and a HEA...what more could you possibly want?  I loved the past-present storyline.  It wasn't another teenage love story, it was a mature couple finding their way.  If you like MC books this one is for you...you will love it!  I can't wait for more from Cat Porter.

Finding true love just once in a lifetime is hard enough, but to be lucky to find it twice in a lifetime? Well hell, hold on to that love like you need air to breathe because finding a third time will be zero to nil! That's basically what this book is about, throw in the MC, rivalry clubs, drugs, strippers, runs, charity events, death and you have one crazy ass adventurous book! Most people will probably complain about the way the author kept going from past to present, but those glimpses into the past are essential to the story, we need that background information to piece everything together and the author does so very nicely, plus the past recollections don't take up much of the book, its just bits here and there. It all comes together at the end! Overall a very enjoyable read, interesting and well developed characters, I hope to see more of this author in the future. SR
