Maddox Locke has lived in darkness for a long time and has tried to hide it from everyone he loves. The day he lost everything he held dear to his heart his demons consumed his ever waking, and sleeping thought. Maddox was so consumed in not letting his demons ruin and taint his friends and loved ones that he didn't see the beautiful angel that slipped under his skin. Emmy has been in love with Maddox since the day he walked into Corps Security. After one incident Emmy flees and Maddox chases determined to bring her back home. This definitely one emotional ride. Locke is definitely one of the more melodramatic ones in the series. Through Maddox's life journey of deceit and loss of friends he has been through more than some people. They make it through the darkness together and learn that they can each weather any storm they come upon with each other. I advise that you start the series with Axel and follow the reading order. There is more to Maddox and Emmy's story throughout the series.

I became addicted to the Corps Security Series after reading the first book, Axel and loved every book after that. But Locke, book 6 in the series, I think is my favorite. Don't get me wrong, all of the men of Corps Security are hot but Maddox Steele... I'm at a loss for words. I loved being caught up in the characters Harper Sloan creates. Locke is an amazing story that grabs you in the prologue and won't let you go until you've read the final page. This book is a beautiful, emotional story of love and healing, second chances, moving on, and family. Not to mention, the sizzling-hot chemistry between Emmy and Maddox. Harper Sloan has that something that tells her readers that she loves to write. Every story she writes is brilliantly written, steamy, sexy, and thought provoking. She writes awesome stories with characters that stay with you even after you finish the book. In writing Locke, she gave her readers a story of two broken people searching for the impossible... a love strong enough to put the pieces of their broken hearts back together. The one thing I can say about Locke is, hold on tight because you are in for one hell of a emotional ride!

This is the Fifth (or sixth) installment in the Corps Security series. I recommend reading the other books in this series before reading this one Axel (Corps Security, #1) Cage (Corps Security, #2) Beck (Corps Security, #3) Uncaged (Corps Security, #3.5) Cooper (Corps Security, #4) This is Locke and Emmy's story. Locke is my absolutely favorite of this series. Seriously I love him the most. He is dark and serious and it takes a 4 year old to get him to see what he is missing in life…. Locke has been pushing Emmy away for years. When tragedy strikes and she runs he knows he must be the one to go and get her and bring her home. Emmy blames herself for losing her friend. She runs to where her friend first found her. She runs right into danger. After Locke comes and gets her they have to fight to get away. Is Emmy ready to go back with Locke and if he does not want her why does she need to go? Locke is a broken man and only Emmy is going to able to heal him. This is in no way a sweet love story. It is dark, painful, heartbreaking, and then healing love. The perfect end to this series……With a lead into maybe a new book…… Highly recommend this book and the entire series.

Although I got tired of the f word I enjoyed reading about Locke and was really happy that he finally found a way out of his dismal existence.

Maddox Locke...his story was gut wrenching. I knew he had demons but I knew he had lots of love. Emmy needed to get him out of his own head and she did. Working through everything just made my heart sing. From watching her battles with Shawn and her horrible past, to showing Maddox he was not a demon seed. Wise words if any ever spoken..or letters in this instant..YOLO. Chin up buttercup!

Good book but to get the entire picture you really need to read all books in series which l did not. I feel that things were glossed over with her family as well as his which left me not feeling the story was unfinished.

Harper Sloan's Corps Security crew with Locke's story is great. Mad & Em's story is the perfect end to this band of brother’s story. We do get caught up the stories of the rest of the CS family. What fun this has been. Now on to Unexpected Fate--yay Thanks Harper Sloan & Good Writing

I love all of Harper's books, but this one was the best yet. Her insight on the inner workings of a broken soldier tore at my soul. I touched me in ways that I didn't think was possible. She is an amazing writer and look forward to see what has in store for us in the future.
