Lol: The Humor of the Internet by Steve Marshall

The humor of the internet is a collection of the very best humor, jokes and anecdotes being circulated on the internet today. The editors have made an exhaustive effort to separate out only the genuinely funny material for this first of a series of similar books.

About the Authors:

Steve Marshall has worked in film and television comedy for the past twenty years. He has written and produced such series as WKRP in Cincinnati, Gloria, and Growing Pains. He also executive produced and co-created Off the Rack starring Edward Asner and Eileen Brennan, the ABC-TV show Just the Ten of Us, and the UPN series, Live Shot. Among his motion picture writing credits is the Twentieth Century Fox film, "Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise.

Patty Miller-Marshall is a social worker for a foster family agency in Los Angeles. She has taught numerous college courses, had a private psychotherapy practice, worked as a parole agent and as a lobbyist (thus she has worked on both sides of the law). Patty credits her experience as the mother of six as the not only the source of her sense of humor but perhaps her entitlement to posthumous candidacy for canonization as well. She has written short stories, poetry and is currently working on her first novel.

I happened upon this gem in a used bookstore and wanted to see if it was still available for purchase so I could buy copies to dole out to my friends. Glad to see it can still be purchased online. The jokes are hilarious and categorized extremely well. I recommend this book to anyone who likes to Laugh Out Loud.

I discovered this book in a local Barnes & Noble store and ended up reading a whole chapter while I was standing there. Had to buy it because just about every joke I read was truly funny. I've never seen that in a joke book before. I recommend this for anybody who likes a good laugh or if you're stuck for a good joke to tell at work.

I'm a fanatic of good jokes - love to hear em and tell em. Once I started reading this book, I couldn't put it down. Would be great at a party! The format of the book makes it easy to find jokes that will appeal to everyone! Laughter makes the world go round! Bravo Steve & Patty! Can't wait til the next one comes out.

I'm 19 years old and an aspiring comic. Usually, joke books are the last resource I'd use to find material, but this joke book really gave me a case of the giggles! Although I get variations of stale jokes through e-mail, every joke in this book is truly funny. You can tell that these guys know what will work and what won't. I'd recommend that you buy this book. I spent ten bucks on it that I could have wasted on beer.......if I were old enough to drink, that is. (sorry mom)

As one who gets countless jokes through e-mail, I thought perhaps it was overkill when LOL: The Humor of the Internet showed up in my Christmas stocking. Santa really does know how to make a gal happy, however, and next to that really useful nose hair razor, I like LOL the best! Seriously, the jokes are timely, tasteless and titillating! If you like to laugh, buy this book. I highly recommend it!

I wouldn't have bought this book myself because I get jokes in my e-mail every day and would have thought this was just a rehash of all the same old tired ones. But the people who did this book managed to find some really great stuff out there that I hadn't seen. I'm still laughing! Get this book for anyone you know who likes to laugh.
