Lonely Hearts by Amanda Stephan

One lonely mother. Two matchmaking kids. Three eligible bachelors, and some very yummy apple pie!

When widow Becky Callis moves to a new town, her intentions were to start over in a place where she's not reminded of her dead husband. Her kids, however, take it as a chance to help her start over romantically. They soon realize it's easier to find someone to like their mother than it is to figure out which man is best for her.

To the delight of both kids, young and handsome cowboy Scott Boone makes his interest plain and starts courting Becky almost immediately.

But Jack Anderson and Becky have been friends since childhood. When they're reunited years after their lives have taken very different paths, this lonely preacher begins to wonder if God has brought her back into his life for a reason.

Pearce Morgan is a single parent raising his young daughter. Divorced and disillusioned, an unlikely friendship arises between him and Becky when his shy daughter decides she loves Becky and her kids.

Im not one to read modern day fiction but i was capitivated from the first few pages. I love that the character is a homschooling mom because e are a homeschooling family. I was in suspense to who she would end up with whether it be Scott or Jack but the the writer threw in a twist and i stayed on the edge of my seat the rest of the book. My heart broke for Becky and the kids so much that I felt her hurt. Wonderfully written, capitivating, and awesome ending!!!!! Cant wait to read more from her.

Romantic, endearing, romantic, uplifting, did I mention romantic? I simply loved this book and had a hard time putting it down! I was captivated from the first syllable to the very last period. What an emotional ride with characters believable and lovable that you're pulling for them from the very first introduction, while other characters make your spine tingle in that "creeper" kind of way. Ms. Amanda Stephan takes us on a journey through several lives as we follow Becky, a widow of two adorable children, as she becomes the "most available woman" in her new town after her most recent move. Jack, a small town preacher and Becky's old friend from childhood; Scott, a self-proclaimed ladies man; and Pearce, a divorced father raising his small daughter; each vie for a place in Becky's life and heart. This is a wonderful story of trust, loyalty, love, compassion, doubt, fear, and second chances when all hope feels lost. The best part; this story is clean, sweet, and very romantic with no explicit scenes to distract from the uplifting spirit of this story!! I would recommend this novel to any and all who are ready for a cozy night and a great romantic read! Very well done, Ms. Stephan! I will defiantly be reading more from this author in the future!

All widow Becky wanted to do was to take her two children to another state and start over. The house she rented wasn't what she expected, but she met Scott. Then she met Pearce. Then she ran into Frank, an old friend. What could go wrong? Maybe everything. For the romantic, there's everything you would want in a novel. Will it all work out? You'll have to read the novel to find out.

Reviewed by Kristie I. for Readers Favorite Amanda Stephan’s “Lonely Hearts” is a charming, romantic read that will pull into the story and keep you turning page after page until the end! Becky and her two children move to a new town and a new home in order to start over and heal from the loss of her husband who had passed away years earlier. The children see this as an opportunity for their mother to find love once again and they are delighted when handsome cowboy Scott immediately shows an interest in Becky. Becky is not looking for love, but she does not need to be as suddenly there are three men vying for Becky’s heart. Is Becky’s heart healed enough for love? I really enjoyed this story! I was immediately drawn into the characters’ lives as they were very realistic and well-developed. Becky, Jen and Jeff are a typical family today trying to have a good life and do it on their own and they can be easily related to. The three men all vying for Becky’s heart are all such great characters and all so different as well. Scott is presented as the typical single male trying to find the perfect woman, Jack and Becky have a history and he is now her pastor which adds in a little extra to their relationship and the dynamics of the story and Pearce is a single father who is lonely and still hurting from the past. I found myself empathizing with the characters and completely engrossed in the decisions and struggles the characters are dealing with. Overall, this is an excellent book that readers will be able to easily relate to as the characters are all dealing with things in their own lives – moving on from past hurts, jealousy, love and feeling lonely - and you will be left smiling at the end!
