One of the best discs of the year and if you live in the States chances are you haven't heard it. Easily the best album of the Cardigan's career. With that said, fans of such songs as "Carnival" and "Lovefool," be warned, on this album the group forgoes their retro 60s sound for a more rock/alt. country feel. "Communication" is a nice lead-off song, being both somber, heartfelt and earnest. Persson lyrically continues where her side-project A-Camp left off. "You're The Storm" which is the latest single, is the second track and adds to the pace of the album. While not the best song off the disc, it is easily the most enjoyable. A shift in vocals highlights the chorus. Their 60's sensibility is not forgotten as the guitar solo here is reminscent of George Harrison's early Beatle stuff. "And Then You Kissed Me" is a song about abuse, without being too coy and overwrought. It also features a nice shift in tempo and melody. "For What It's Worth" and "Live and Learn" are two more stand-outs. "Live..." is lyrically one of the more clever songs on the album. It is a damn shame this disc has yet to be released here. One can hope the American fans will see it one day, as it is one of the better disc to be released this year so far.

I thought THE CARDIGANS have really come a long way from their first CD, first band on the moon. They have changed from their popish, experiemental style to a new mellowed out style. Eveyone should buy their CDs.

I bought this cd after hearing only a small portion of "You're the Storm," and I was not disappointed at all. My favorite song on the cd is "Communication" - it's like my new relationship theme song. The cd is really mellow, and it is a perfect mix of upbeat music and exploring a little bit of sadness. If that sounds good to you, then I promise that you will also not be disappointed if you buy this cd.
