Overview

Long Knife by James Alexander Thom

Two centuries ago, with the support of the young Revolutionary government, George Robers Clark led a small but fierce army west from Virigina to conquer all the territory between the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers. Here is the adventure, the romance, the struggle, and the betrayal of his life. Rich in the heroic characters, meticulously researched detail and grand scale that have become James Alexander Thom's trademarks, LONG KNIFE, his first historical epic, is simply unforgettable.

All Americans should read this book to get a feeling for how our country was settled. Some of what these men did in Illinois is truly amazing. I have not read a book by Thom that was not good. Read this one.

This was a facinating book about a great man that I knew little about. It will give you a new appreciation for what the first Americans went through to secure our freedom and the country we now have.

It took me a few chapters to get into this book. It ended up being an excellent book. The end had me in tears.
